Evosport | CLK63 Black Series @ Dunlop Targa New Zealand

Just received this email earlier today from our client in New Zealand who entered his CLK Black Series in the recent Dunlop Targa New Zealand. Vehicle had a number of Evosport modifications, but thought I'd share his feedback regarding the brake rotors.

And in case you are wondering, they ran our drilled/slotted setup. Customer paid full price for the rotors.

Simon,

I've just finished competing in this year's Dunlop Targa NZ event ("The Ultimate Road Race"...a world class tarmac rally), run last week.

Rotors were excellent - can't believe the positive effect on handling as lighter/unsprung weight effect! Rotors wore well, and handled the heat. We will be back for more and tell everyone over here how good your Evosport stuff is!

We used latest RS29 yellow Pagid pads - excellent.

We had our best ever result in a smaller but higher quality competition.

A tough endurance test - speed limit is 200kph on around 800kms of racing special stages on closed tarmac roads plus nearly 2,000 kms touring over 6 days from Auckland, to New Plymouth, to Palmerston North to Wellington.
Included were stages at Hampton Downs and Manfeild race tracks.

We were in Modern competition, Class 8.

We finished every stage to come 8th - of note we were 1st in class - first Euro car finisher home (beat all Porsches, including GT3 RS).

We had not a scratch or problem with the car - totally reliable - tested to the limit.

We also got the prize for best presented modern car - a jealous pride prize reflecting how cool the car was and our service crew's work to keep it looking great all week.

Go to www.targa.co.nz for official website.

We had "tagged" the car to look like some young graffitists had tagged it - This proved popular.

We wrote "Thirsty Merc", "Sweet As', "Sick" etc to spice it up for younger generation.

Some photos attached.
