I know one problem with the black series is that the people who would love it, don't have any awareness of it. I know that was true in my case. I had been a diehard BMW M fan for years. At one point I had a 1988, 2002, and 2008 M3 at the same time. As far as I knew, Mercedes made nothing remotely interesting enough to get me in a showroom. So I went with my sister to help her find a GLK at the local Mercedes dealer where she lived. I had the 2008 Silver M3 with me at the time, and casually looked over to the C-class section where they had a C63. I had never seen one in person and only knew about them from the episode of Top Gear where they compared the RS4, M3, and C63. So I took it for a test drive...and traded that day. Fell in love with the M156 engine so much I went looking for the ultimate version of it at that time, which was a Black Series. Long story short, the current AMG ruined BMW M for me in a way old AMG did not. I'm down to one M car. I still own and love the 1988 M3, and would probably still have the 2002 if I hadn't need something more practical than three 2-door sportscars. In short, I didn't know I wanted one until a random circumstance made me a convert. A lot of people that would be interest in a Black Series and can afford one just don't know it exists. Which is a shame because it is one of the biggest bangs-for-the-buck available today.
As an aside, have triend to see what a dealership would give you for it. I know guys that have got what you're asking for as trade-in.

Its got warranty till 2012 iirc, and I think there is a way to get an extended from mercedes, but I havent checked into it. Regardless, the car runs amazingly.

Most Mercedes dealerships can offer a 3rd party warranty as long as the original is still active that extends it by 2 years to 100,000 miles. Usually runs anywhere from $4k-6k depending on the dealership. It helps if you've been a previous customer.

Well if you lower it anymore Ill have to go get a loan.. lol what do you think the insurance would be for an 18 year old?
BAHAHAHAHA!! just applied for 3 online quotes from progressive, geicho, and Allstate, all yielded similar results... "Unfortunately, based on the information you supplied we are not able to offer you a rate quote at this time.Every insurance company uses its own standards to determine which prospective policyholders it can insure. Although your information is favorable in some respects it does not meet our overall underwriting requirements.Since each insurer uses their own standards to determine whom they will accept, you may be able to find insurance through another company. We are not able to offer you insurance at this time because of the following:

Looks like no insurance on the black series..

I pay $1169.00 per year for full coverage with an agreed upon replacement cost of $83500.00 on a collectors policy with no mileage/use limitations.

I could have a bought a GT3, 997 Turbo, GT-R, M3, etc. I didn't choose it because it was a MB product. I would imagine 75% of the people that buy the CLK BS buy it because it what the car offers.

Well, that's what I'm saying- you get the package in other cars too, not a mid-sized family car adapted for a bigger engine and suspension.

Edit: Not to derail this thread any further, good luck to the OP!

Makes sense, since family cars are usually 2 door coupes ..... the rest of your theory is also flawed. GT3's, GT3RS's and Turbo's are all based on mass produced coupes, "adapting" high performance engines and suspensions. Some people "get" what a CLK63 BS is, and some people "don't". You obviously fall into the "don't" category

Incorrect about Porsche, as those vehicles, no matter how mass produced, are capable on the track and in many ways, adapted for the street- the other direction. in addition, Porsche has a much narrower base of people to cater to, and due to this, they are able to specialize the cars to a much greater degree. And we can argue about the coupe being this or that, but it's still much like the arguments that I see when people compare their sl63's to lower HP porsches, then go to the tracks and get lapped. The BS might be narrower, but yeah, I don't get it, because it's still adapted, no matter what Mercedes says. Same for the c63. It's still adapted up.
For the rest, well, let me put it another way since you didn't get it the first time. Most of the people who bought a BS new, were mostly previous Porsche guys, me included. I could have easily bought another Porsche for the same money .
BTW, last time I was at the track, there were 6 Black Series present. Seems to me, they might know something you don't ...... Ich hab' eine Idee: Vieleicht solltest Du weniger mit Deinen Nuessen spielen um es auch zu begreifen
