Evosport | Another evo3+ CLK63 BS with CARBON ROOF!
Gang,
I cannot share too much yet as this car is scheduled for a magazine, but here are some teaser shots:
Yes, that is a full satin clear coated DRY Carbon Fiber roof!
thanks
Brad

Visited EVosport today and I have to say the carbon roof looks like it came from the factory. I'm not a fan of a lota aftermarket stuff but wow! Nice job.

Is the trunk cf as well?
Any shots of the rear?
Was the diffuser redone to match the dry cf?
Which mag, can you tell us?
Also, I noticed the calipers are red, were they repainted AMGs or your own brand?
Nice, nice, nice!
Nice work, looks amazing--I gotta get a BS, such a sweet car, I gotta wait a couple years because my wife will flip if I bring home another AMG

Who cares when you got that dry CF roof? j/k
Seriously I was just thinking today that "my BS doesn't need any more hp, but it sure can use a diet!"
Brad I know you can't say too much (price/wt savings?) but I really hope this is not a one time only bespoke product

Thanks!
The first one is always more of a drama. Now it is a no-brainer for my guys to do!
Thanks Jim! The roof really is an essential mod IMHO for those that want the ultimate BS. Taking that much weight off the roof (ie; the highest and least favorable place for weight) is just a big win for handling and overall vehicle dynamics.
The trunk LIP is CF, the trunk itself is not. The diffuser and all the OE carbon was redone in satin so it all matches.
I promised the editor I would not shoot too many pics, so I have to hold off for a bit. It will be featured in European Car.
They are the OE calipers re-painted to match the theme of the car. We have 2 uprated Brembo options now, but this customer started the project before we had those available.
It is amazing how affordable these cars are now. Economy combined with many who did not understand or appreciate the car. I think that in the next 6-12 months the car will bottom out and will not get much cheaper if not start to slightly appreciate. It is my absolute favorite road car choice right now for sure!
It is re-mounted on the rear parcel shelf under the rear window. As of yet, we have not experienced any issues with this.
Yes, shaving weight is less popular as it doesn't have the same "appeal" as adding HP. But weight is the biggest enemy of that car.
It is not a one-off part. We do have them available on a custom order.
I will have more specs shortly and we will post on the roof itself.
thanks
Brad

Brad...What is the weight savings compared to the OE roof? The more I look at the CLKBS...it really is pulling me towards pulling the trigger on one sooner than later. It'll make my AMG collection more complete...
If I go BS, then Chris @ C2Designs will be calling you guys for the works. I'll take mine in red with CF aero kit plus whatever your devious skunkworks has to offer...I better start working my buttt off 2011 because I know stock probably won't satisfy me...:0

CLK63 Black Series
AMG Fan....I'm in Tampa also. I've used Chris at C2Design for many of my previous cars. Chris is the man!! I'll be definitely using him for my BS also. He's done about 5-7 BS' that I can think of off hand. He's the ONLY way to go in Fla.

They just did a full roll cage on one of them...
I'll probably be at the next Dupont Registry CC (3rd Saturday every month) and Craig (owner of one the white CLKBS) is usually there...I believe he has most of the Evosport goodies on his...
The combination of Evosport and C2Design really works...at least for us guys in Tampa and Central Florida area...
Back on topic...a clear coated CF roof on a red CLKBS would look hot!
