Willow Springs Track Day

Thanks to the Brad and Simon from Evosport for another great day at the track. We had a total of SEVEN Black Series there this past weekend. Great to finally meet Sascha and Lou. And as always, Jim Brady and I had a great time mixing it up. And hearing that ALMS exhaust note from the 900hp Ford GT was unreal ripping down the front straight. Here are a few videos. You can tell how loud the FGT was compared to everything else. Even with me and Jim nose to tail running down the front straight you could barely hear the TWO BS compared to the single FGT. Enjoy!!

Yeah, it was a great day. That was Brad driving in the video...he posted it over in the C63 forum as well. When he came on track he actually split me and the red BS (Brady). Then Simon was in the white M3 and started dicing it up thru 2 and up the hill. I thought to myself...."hang on a sec, isn't this point by passing only????" I had no clue it was those ba$tards or else I would have slammed the door on them.

From watching Brad's video driving the gray BMW and then just pulling into the pits, it must have very good brakes as they didn't even need a cool down lap...

What kind are they....?

Damn!! That red BS got killed 3 times! Were the black and white M3's on stock form or were they modified?

Turn nine is the track off exit. You might notice my arm up when the BMW's passed.

Can't take anyting from Luke, I had nothing for his new set up as we was flat hooked up out of two and nine.

As Brad said, what you see in the videos isn't really an accurate representation of each cars full potential. I was probably 8-9/10ths most of the day and left a bit on the table. These aren't race cars, and as such, it's prudent not to drive them on the track like one. Going off at Willow can turn VERY ugly - and a rollover at 120mph with no cage can easily be something you never walk away from.
with that being said...we all know and respect each other on the track - it's not a place for egos. Doing lead and follows and intentionally giving up a position lap after lap just adds to the enjoyment.

Oh ok. That makes sense now. I've always loved and am still a fan of both the M3's and BS. Just watching the BS get passed just surprised me that's all. But it's all good as long as everyone had fun.

Yup noticed it but didn't really know what it meant and now it makes sense. Red always stands out!
