Maybe selling: any interest?
Well the dreaded car ADD has kicked in again and I'm thinking of trading in the BS. Before I get too far along in the process, I wanted to let you guys know in case anyone has an interest in my car.
Details:
Iridium Silver
3400 miles
Excellent condition both exterior and interior; (i.e. no bodywork damage now or ever, and no wear to the interior including the driver's side seat bolster)
OEM MB Bluetooth module installed (cost $1200)
2nd owner
Clean Carfax
Tires with about 50% remaining front and rear
3M clear bra to the front end, headlights and mirrors
20% window tint
Always garaged
Asking $85,000 OBO (this includes two brand new, never mounted Corsa rear tires and a 10mm NIB set of EVO, (H+R) spacers.
PM me if interested and I'll send you the VIN and pictures, plus any more details you'd like. I honestly believe this is one of the nicest examples in the country.

No interest. What are you thinking about to replace it? That's the question that will fuel the opinions.

(Although after seeing the 'Ring time for the new PDE version of the '12 ZR1 maybe I should just save a bunch of money and get one of those!! lol).
BTW, if anyone has owned and/or driven either a 997 GT2 or Audi R8 V10 I'd like to hear your thoughts on using the car 80%/20% street/track.

Well if you consider that two rear Corsas and EVO spacers would cost approximately $1500, then the actual asking price is $83,500. If you look at what dealers are asking for cars like mine, even ones with more miles on them, then I think asking $85K with the tyres and spacers is reasonable.
But then again, I did say OBO.

Track performance is ... what you'd expect from a lightweight, high horsepower car with super grip. Tremendous fun.
I know you can relate to this, I had some track time in a Cobb prepped GT-R and found it to be exceptional in mid-turn, exiting turns and straights but less precise than the ZR1 or RS during turn in. Plus, there was the turbo lag, but that was fun.
As to the R8 V10, it was only 1 second quicker at "The Ring" than the Black Series so I'm not sure it competes with the GT2.
Hope you get your price.

Sorry Bish, I know this doesn't answer the question at all but, I've had a little track time and street time in the ZR1 and the GT3 RS and the street performance of both suspensions are outstanding.

You planning to go to the Austin F1 race next year? If so, we must hook up. In fact, let's hope loads of people from this board can go.

Bish,
FWIW, the Audi looks good on paper but sorry too many reliability issues if you're thinking about tracking an Audi.
I've had many tail waggers and done with porsches. The old design with the nanny features allow us to run them without killing ourselves.
Zr1 will have heat sink issues if run in hot climates, that leaves the GT-R.
I faced this issue a year ago, got tired of the massive depreciation of fun cars. Kept the BS and got a FGT and couldn't be happier. Upgraded with the factory pulley hand have 620rwhp. Still run the BS as it's a keeper also.

Appreciate the reviews and the honesty. I have no idea why I'm even thinking of selling the BS; it's such an awesome car. Just this damn 'itch' that needs to be scratched! Lol.
I've done the Porsche thing twice but have an opportunity to get a 997 GT2 for a decent price, so that has me thinking. The R8 is supposed to be an awesome DD as well as fun on track, so that is why I was thinking of it. Had a GT-R for two years and spent a lot of money keeping it in brakes and cool enough on track to run for 25 minutes at WOT. The ZR1 is an awesome performance 'bargain', but I've heard reports of heat soak too.
Decision, decisions.

CLK63 Black, E350 Wagon, Supercharged Denali, Lotus Elise, Tesla Model 3 Dual-Motor.
I just watched the new 2012 ZR1 heat soak and become the 2nd fastest production car 7:19 at the ring. The driver Jim Mero beat the crap out of it and it still hit 182+ MPH bringing it to the finish line.

Sold my clk bs last year to a newer member here. I have now owned an r8 v10 for a couple months. Love both cars for very different reasons. Let's talk cars and maybe even trade.

I only put about 1500 miles on the car.
In fact I am very close to a deal, so if someone wants it, I'll let it go this week for $82,500. Factoring in the two new rear Corsas and the spacers, it means someone gets the car for $81,000.

All I will say is that you are over priced.
There are at least 5 on the net right now asking less than 70K and mileage under 30K.
I agree you have a lot less mileage but that is not worth 15K.
Good luck with sale.

$85K is too high. There's a black one owner BS (traded in for SLS) at a local dealership 11k miles, very clean, 100% bone stock except for clear bra asking price is $74,900 somebody will probably grab it for $71-$72K.

The price is more then fair> I think all the BS are undervalued there is only 350 and I think the price should be 100k, cuz in 20years that car will be worth 500k
