No need to access the interior battery compartment to use a battery tender.
There is a charge/jump point in the left side of the engine compartment near the shock towers.
Just flip up the red lid and you will see a connection point that accepts an alligator clip for the positive side of the battery.
Secure the negative to a common ground point not far from the covered positive point.
I use a $19.00 Schumacher SEM-1562A 1.5 Amp Speed Charge Maintainer connected to this point in the winter months.
As "LovemyBS" previously posted there is also a charging point in the trunk that accepts the OEM MB charger.

Thanks RBYCC the tender is currently installd with a pig tail hanging off the rear compartment for easy access. However, dragging the wires thru the window every time is not the most effective way to do it. Do you just shut the trunk on the wire when you use the MB version?

The only "not simple" part of the MB trunk-insertion point charger is that fitting the male end of the charger into the female end of the trunk port is a finger breaker. And, just as hard to undo. So, once you plug the male end into the female end, best thing is to just leave the entire unit in the trunk, including the power cord. I leave it that way for winter, but really cannot for track days. AS

I just leave my hood open and connect to the charging point in the engine bay.

Does anyone know how to remove panels in rear to access battery for replacement? I tried monkeying around last fall before I put into storage but was limited by time and only managed to remove center cover and wasn't able to remove panels on either side of grey center piece. Thx

Bumping this old thread ...
Does anyone have the part number for the OE charger for this car?
There's a few versions with different PNs for sale online and I just want to make sure I am getting the right one.
Thanks.

After some investigation for part number is A000-982-29-21
