Thought I would share a recent write up on my CLK BS

My favorite part is the comments from the peanut gallery in the comment section

....just take of the top speed limiter and any CLK can run 290km not in the half mile buddy lol

The comments left on most car-related articles or videos are best left ignored... everyone speaks as if they have something more exciting than the average family car in the garage.

PS love the Double Stuffed oreo cookie tires! Every serious race car needs them period!
I bought my own set of Lightweight CCW 18x13 18x10 wheels sitting on BFG Drag Tires 345/30 rear 265/40 front, will be installed next week I'll submit my pix for your approval

Huge weight savings vs current fashion 20"s saved 25 lbs off each rear wheel & 15 lbs off each front wheel ez 40 rwp increase can't wait to feel added perf!

They are quality wheels, what impresses me most about the wheels is the quality of the finish, I have mounted/dis-mounted tires a dozen plus times and there is not even a chip or blemish on the bead area.

You are going to notice a big difference in acceleration just on weight savings alone. Love your car, you have the baddest SL on the planet. You running Shift Sector in October, they are having a BMW vs AMG shootout, we need some fast AMGs out there, you should go?

Promise if this race is in So Cal? & my Speedriven 1000-1100 + GT3582R's are installed you can count me in IDK exactly what'll run before tranny sh_tz the bed but Soulsearchers SL had much older turbo technology, & he put down 830-850 rwp & ran 198 mph in standing mile on get this huge boat anchor 20"s w/skinny 25 profile tires w/horrible traction thru 1-2 gears.

My tranny needs to be built but should hold due to largest turbos will have bit more lag & in theory that should save TQ converter among other things, w/91 CA krap gas 800-850 rwp should be no problem I'm just not certain how high rwp can go on Q16 catless tune? I know UGR Gallardo TT race gas tunes jump hp/tq up 150-250 whp, We will see If I can just get reliable race tune @ 1000 rwp that's my goal anyway..

Irony, I have my 1000whp AMG built 2000 miles away by Weistec who is about 25 miles from where you live and you have your 1000whp AMG built by Speedriven who is 25 miles from my house lol....yep, we're nuts! Speedriven seems to be the benchmark for the V12 tt's good choice going with them.

As for the fuel, my CLK is now been converted to E85, talk about power

I'm adding dedicated E85 file next 1-2 weeks, from my online Columbo work Turbo app's luvv E85, they see between 75-90 rwhp & 75-90 rwtq too shocking!! I'm re-dyno tuning w/E85 on my new CCW's in same time frame w/40 rwp savings from wheels & 75-90 rwp & retune + my curent setup this COULD equate to extra 130 odd untapped rwp gains (Torque will be substantial I'm already @ a conservative 850+ rwtq so again guesstimate rwtq should be 970 + eeekk! If this works as I'm hopefull I'll run her regardless of new Speedriven Gt3582R's as this should propell my SL into 780-800 rwhp on stock turbs

Although I will admittedly bump my PSI up to 28-30 psi on stk turbs, I did this trick to run previous 700 rwp/875 rwt w/o this technique it stays @ 22 odd psi) the utter violence this unleashes is beyond addicting..
PS my SL isn't AMG but lowly 600 lol.. Tho w/current setup it will demolish an OEM SL 65 BLK
& actual current curb weight inc custom CF seats, and major weight reduction all around my SL will weigh 3800 lbs or less..

I have been running E85 in the CLK since May, it makes gobs of HP, I was really impressed and suprised, I had no idea it would make such a difference. They sell E85 at the pumps everywhere in the midwest which makes it even more attractive and at under $4.00 a gallon it's a bargain, although I do have a few cans of "race" E85 for special occasions.
