Buying a Black CLK63 BS with 35,000 miles. Value?

Whats a reasonable price for a stock, black car with 35,000 miles these days? I'm looking at completing a deal this week. Are there any specific things to look for?

The car is located in Long Beach Ca. I forgot to mention that it has a Carfax report for some rear damage. The guy I may buy it from said that he bought in in 2010, and he could not find ant evidence of any repairs that were made. I suspect the repair was minimal but should change the value to some extent.

Mint car with 7k miles sold for 70k very recently....so go down from there. I just passed on a 32k mile car for $45k last week. I know of another 20k mile car which could be had for about $58k last week.

Why in the world did you pass on a 32k mile car for only $45k??

Do not trust CarFax

You want to get a PPI or PTI

at a MB Dealer

Ditto...seems like a very fair price for a no-issues car

Thanks guys. Are there any particular things I should look for or have checked out? I would be taking the car on a partial trade and am just looking to have a bit of fun with it for a few months and then sell it. How long do pads and rotors last? Transmission service? Etc.

It had the usual mods.....no major accidents to speak of. I passed because I wasnt ready to buy one. Less than $60k should be a fair price for a 20k mile car.

Well I checked out the car yesterday and it turns out it has 35,000 miles! Its pretty damn clean but not perfect. A couple very small chips on the doors as if they were opened up into something. A couple of small scratches on some of the carbon fiber parts that I know can be fixed. I drove it and all I can say is wow! What a machine ! Seems to run perfect.
Anyway, at 20,000 miles I thought that 55k would be a safe number whereas I could drive it for a while and still get my money back out of it. At 35000 miles I'm thinking 45k would be safe. What say you guys?
BTW. This car belongs to a customer of mine that I'm building a house for. The car, if I decide to get it , would be used as partial payment for my fees. Point is, that there could be some tax savings for me..... as well as picking up a nice car to enjoy for a bit.

That's a great price. But I'm sure many on here will say you should pay more.

Yea, 45k seems like 10k under the market rate... I hope the OP will let us know what he ended up negotiating...

I'd pass on that car if you plan on reselling it later...I think the demographic for this exclusive piece of automobile will usually avoid a CLKBS with such history. I struggled selling my vehicle with a dirty car fax even though it was just a 5mph parking lot incident that got reported. All metal panels were original paint.

Either way, hope it works out for you.
