So, long story short, I would consider myself a Porsche enthusiast at heart. Currently have a 997.2 GT3, and 997.1 GT3 Cup as the track/race car. Along with that, the DD is an E92 M3, which I have heavily considered moving to a CLK63 BS as this is a car I both want, and will own at some point. So, my questions are as follow:
1. Anyone in the Minneapolis, Madison area with a BS that would be interested in meeting up and checking out any of the above cars? Obviously the Cup is out seeing as it isn't street legal, but glad to bring either of the others.
2. Who has experience with any of the above cars? And what were your thoughts as compared to the BS car?
Thanks all!

My daily is also an E92 M3 DCT, fairly modded and with 550f/800r springs over JRZ's... so the car is quite stiff for street.
The BS is slightly less refined compared to the E92, heavier and less nimble. The BS is also much stiffer than even my E92, likely due to the very heavy springs to offset the weight of the BS. However, it's such a beast and almost comical to drive because of the torque, which is non existent in all the cars you listed above.
My BS has the Weistec engine and trans rev match software, which is a must for these cars.... especially if you're at all used to the likes of a DCT car. It's still not even close to DCT, but night and day difference to how it was before.
Aside from the power of the BS, I find the steering ratio to be one of my favorite aspects of the car. It's very quick compared to the many M cars I'm used to and really assists the car in feeling lighter than it is.
Downside is that you'll go through fuel quite fast given how thirsty she is combined with the relatively small fuel tank.
The BS does hold its value better than BMW's, but far less than your GT3's, obviously
...not that I've ever bought a car with resale value in mind. lol

I have the BS and a 991S, and I agree with everything Sullyz said. Really hit the nail on the head. I took both cars to track, overall 991 is more nimble and handles better, but the BS is a beast and has better straight line speed. The BS handles a lot better than what it looks. And the torque makes everything easier. 911s (other than the turbo) are all still momentum cars when compared to the BS. Originally Posted by sullyz

I wouldn't DD the BS though. Unless you are in Germany and has smooth roads everywhere. The M3 is better as a DD. But if you want something special, go with the BS.
As a DD, the incredible torque, sound, and manually adjustable coilovers more than make up the difference in road manners vs. an E92 M3. Certainly not worse than a C6 Z06. No appreciable difference between a BS and a 997 C2S if I recall correctly (its been a few years). Given the relative costs of the M3 and BS, I'd opt for a BS.

I have either owned or extensively driven all of the cars above (except the Cup car). As far as how the Black Series compares to your E92 ///M3 I would say that you will have no problem at all driving the Black Series every day. I drive mine all the time, and daily drive it when it is not snowing, and the car is perfectly suited to handle the job. The great thing is that when you want to squeeze the throttle to shoot through traffic, it has all the torque you could ever ask for, and you will find a permanent smile plastered to your face.
The other great thing about the Black Series is that it is so unique. You will likely never have a situation where you pass another one on the road, and it just feels special in a way that words cannot describe. I love the handling on cloverleaf ramps, and the barking sound that it makes on cold startup.
There are tens of thousands of ///M3s out there. You can always get another one. There are only around 349 Black Series in the United States. You owe it to yourself to own one while they are still very affordable.

Agree with everything above except for the middle paragraph stating you will never see another one on the road.... if this is implying that you have something nobody else does, I would caution that perspective. I couldnt care less what other people drive and a car does not define me. It is visually appealing and it is fun to drive. End of story. It may hold value because there are fewer, so that is debatable.Originally Posted by Meeyatch1
