NEW CLS550 2013

The new CLS550 is released on the mbusa website in build your own. No changes visible, price are the same. Only thing that i noticed was different was the website layout.

CLS550 build your own
http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehicl.../model-CLS550C

Still thinking about getting my own sometime soon, maybe next year.

Did anyone here already order their 2013 CLS? What color did you choose?

2013 CLS550
I ordered one for European Delivery! A few differences:

- BO sound is available even though I didn't order it. $6k is a lot plus I read a review somewhere of the new SL with it and they were not that impressed. Actually they preferred the HK system - strange.

- Base price is now $72k but options are the same

- The blue efficiency badge on the sides has been removed

- Steel gray is now available as a choice. In 2012 I believe it was only available with the launch edition

- Mbrace2 comes with the car now. I believe this also gives a controller with 4 buttons but I maybe wrong.

So I got steel gray with premium black leather and the ash trim. Got the wheel package 2 so it also comes with the contrast stitching. Beyond these I got premium package, parktronic, active driver seat, split folding seats, back trunk spoiler and back airbags.

I didn't go for any of the driver assistance packages but how the front star without the district plastic cover will look like worries me bit. I hope it looks better. Delivery is Aug. 10th and this will be my first Mercedes after after many BMWs.

I listened to the BO in a SL and have also heard the Harmon Kardon. The BO blew me away with the range. If you're not an audio file then the HK I'm sure is great. However, I could see a clear difference. Namely at each end of the high highs and low lows. More expensive systems go beyond what the human ear can hear and as a result makes what you can hear sound less strained when the speaker reaches for that range. Plus, the sound insulating seems better.

If i may ask, how much did it cost for all the options you got, what was the final price?

I am sure you are right. I went back and forth about getting this option since sound is very important to me. At the end I couldn't get myself to spend the $6k for it especially since I never heard it, read a review and there is also the extra trunk space that is needed for it. Now if it was half the price as it is in the new BMW M5 it would be a different story.

I ordered through MB of Escondido - Herbert. MSRP is $82,815 and standard ED gives you 7% off msrp plus no transportation charge. Not sure if at liberty to disclose my deal - will check - but it is beyond the above. Give Herbert a call - I think you will be happy, my experience has been great!

- The B&O system on the S is fantastic. However, it is a debate if it is worth 6K. I personally do not think so. Even though, I have some B&O products they have always been sub par to brands they seem to be equal to like Mark Levinson, Krell etc (But that is an argument for another forum).....is B&O the new higher end HK of all German Cars? Way to go porsche with Burmeister! Way to stand out.

- I would reconsider driver assistance pkg even if you don't use distronic. The safety ramifications alone are worth it.

It's worth it to get it just for the removal of the stupid Bluefficiency badges helping to muck up the sides!

I have read in this forum about the 2014 CLS550 engine, is it true that it will become like the new SL550 engine producing 429 HP? And is the CLS550 2014 going to have changes or is it like the 2013 with minor changes only?
