Rattles

Hi
I have just had a CLS for the weekend that had 300 miles on the clock. I noticed that there was a slight rattle, coming from the dash I think. This was only apparent on certain road surfaces.
Interested to know views of owners to whether there have been any other instances or is this probably just a one off.

That's good to know. I have a few rattles, but the most prominent is coming from the instrument cluster somewhere. Maybe mine is coming from the same trim. I have about 6500 miles, and I have been waiting for the first service to get the rattles addressed. I also have an occasional rattle from the sunroof cover and a more prominent one coming somewhere from the back (i think the rear portion of the center console). The car is rattle-free on smooth roads, but here in Oregon, we have tons of uneven, worn highways from years of studded tires, and the rattles come out on these roads.

That's concerning as I do not expect any rattles from a car costing this much. 9 yrs on and no rattles in my E Class and my wifes A Class has been great too. I have now placed my order so I really hope I have a well built one as I know how hard it will be to resolve these type of things if its intermittent, I can just hear the dealer now 'but we cant replicate the noise you hear as when we drove it was fine'. I really hope I am making the right decision buying a CLS as these cars cost a substantial premium over the E Class. My understanding was the extra cost is in the styling and better quality interior build and materials used and they look stunning.
