2012 cls550--2012 srt8 jeep--2014 e350--2014 cla 250
So the rivets are what are holding it . The 10 mm screws that hold the original diffuser dont go with the amg one

Sorry for bringing gold thread up but I picked up an e63 exhaust for my cls550 but I just checked the part numbers and they are different but I assume same chassis as in the past.

Just to update an old thread.... The CLS63 rear diffuser is NOT bolt on for a CLS550.
Have to order some parts to work and may have to cut a bracket on the stock bumper.
I'll update when it's done and I have the part numbers.

Part number I am needing is 218-885-18-14... It's the lower bracket that supports the lower part of the diffuser.
Everything else is bolt on. Would you be able to show or post pictures of where the lower tabs on the diffuser are on yours? Possibly under the car looking up at it?
Thanks for any info.

Okay all,
So I got the job done. Just wanted to share my experience from this whole conversion......
What I wanted - A clean looking and some more bark from my Stock CLS550. Something that was about as loud as a AMG.
What my options where - Muffler delete, resonator delete on stock exhaust or Purchase a take off AMG mufflers and mount those.
What I did - Purchased a Used set of CLS63/E63 Mufflers off of Ebay for $300 and a Carbon fiber diffuser for a CLS63 AMG. I picked up the RW Carbon Brabus style diffuser (https://www.rwcarbon.com/mercedes-w2...-diffuser.html ). I wanted all of my fitment to be like OEM. So what I learned was to correctly mount the diffuser on a stock bumper you have to remove all of the original diffuser mounts and exhaust mount and purchase the following bracket ( 218-885-18-14 Merc part number) then the diffuser will sit flush and attached correctly. Now the Carbon bits have less flex than plastic so its kind of a pain to get it to mount correctly but once its all lined up you will have to use the provided screws that came with the diffuser to hold the slips in place. If you decided to use Mercedes OEM plastic diffuser than they should just clip in.
Also I wanted to note that to get the AMG mufflers to work you really should also purchase the AMG exhaust brackets as the AMG exhaust has two hangers vs the stock mufflers only having one. Here are the part numbers : 212-490-11-37 & 212-490-12-37.
Well at the end of the day I got it all together and it looks great! The sound is only slightly louder than stock, so I am a little disappointed in the results of spending all this $$ as it really is primarily looks and no sound gains were made. So after more research I came up as to why the AMG sound better ... our stock CLS550 has a resonator that is chamber that mixes both banks exhaust together and and then has it exit the other side similar to an X - Pipe. The AMG resonator is actually more of two straight pips with a very small bridge (H pipe). This helps produces more of the deep tone and is also better for the turbos as far as better flow. So I will be going to the muffler shop to delete my resonator and install straight pipes in its place. If I need to tone it down I will bridge them with an H pipe.
Hope this helps anyone who was in my shoes....
If I where to do it again I would first do the resonator delete... If I wanted the AMG look I would still buy AMG mufflers but save the $300 bucks and buy OEM amg diffuser (plastic) as the carbon is hardly noticeable.

Hey there!
See my post above and I provide you will the part numbers you will need for the diffuser to work. Are you doing amg mufflers? if so get the hangers that I mention also. You can use the Mercedes parts diagram to see how/where the parts need to go. Once you pull off your bumper (which you really should do) It is self explanatory as to what needs to be taken out.
The stock diffuser is riveted on, so you will have to drill lout the rivets and replace them when mounting the new diffuser.

If so you will need to take the bumper off as you have to drill out a bunch of rivets to remove the non amg diffuser mounts. Then once you buy the AMG lower diffuser mount you will have to install it. Very difficult to do with the bumper on. Lastly for the best fitment on the diffuser it's easier to mount when the bumper is removed.
In sum, it will take you 20 min to take off the bumper and it's much easier.

Do you have a non amg car?

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I wanted to thank you for your advice as I have ordered a CLS63 OEM used diffuser along with the bracket you suggested from Mercedes Benz. I will also be removing mufflers and attaching 4 oval amg tips, pay homage to the last generation of tips on amg's. I also think the round tips will flow nice with the overall design of the vehicle. Will post pics and updates on a separate thread along with my other mods soon to come.
Thanks!

Thanks for the informative post. I’m stating a similar project. Got the diffuser from a MB dealer & purchased a full AMG exhaust from a parting out 2017 CLS 63 AMG. The car had only 15k on the odometer. What a shame.
Getting ready to install the exhaust. Was the install of the mufflers holding brackets difficult? This my only worry. The rest is pretty much plug & play except for the two extenders/reducers that will bridge the 63mm CLS 550 exhaust pipes to the 70mm resonator inlet pipes. I got those from a machine shop.
Thanks
