I don't even drive mine to DC anymore. I feel your pain! They say you have to Pay to Play... and its not cheap.

Just switched to Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position (19" summer tires - had 19" Pirelli Pzero summer too). What a difference! Actually much less expensive than the Pirelli too.

Driving in nyc can be a living nightmare. I did not opt for wheel/tire protection so I am seriously considering purchasing 20" AMG reps
I was quoted $1400 with tires after some haggling
Obviously the wheel quality is not parallel to the real thing, however I may just go purchase the set tomorrow because replacing 1 rim and tire will cost more alone....Plus I achieve a sportier look
thoughts anyone?

just recently replaced another bubbled tire and dented rim. I opted for the 18" setup, to try to minimize this.I didn't even recall hitting any holes. It's not at all that I am a bad driver, it's simply what you cannot swerve to avoid in NYC, which cars all around or those blind curves that give you no reaction time. That when I scream a loud F**K on impact. lol
I've never experienced such a terrible wheel / tire combo in all my 28yrs of driving and 43yrs old. MB should be ashamed of themselves as well, the rims bend like pretzels on the slightest impact. Also, these Pirelli's are always on national backorder for obvious reasons.

RRS Supercharged and CLS550 (W218)
Hit a pothole last week....noticed a bubble on the side wall of my right front 19" pirelli p-zeros when I was washing the car this past weekend. I didn't even hit it that hard, but I guess it was enough to damage the tire. The tires are also useless when the ground is wet.......loses traction easily.
