2014 CLS550 Hood (Vertical)

Yesterday I went to add washer fluid into my new CLS550 and there was a minor wind. The hood was open and then the wind pushed it to a vertical position. I was shocked to see this and then realized the hood will indeed goto this position. Should there not be a safety lock or something for this? It opens and closes fine but not sure why Mercedes would enable this to goto this position easily even in windy conditions.

Is this normal??

I dont know if there is a late model Mercedes that doesnt do that.
You reaction is a bit unusual though. People are always amazed and happy to find out that their car has this feature.

Yes, the hood is designed to go 100% vertical. It allows for maximum access to the engine bay. However, minor wind should not push the hood to its vertical position.
