It's here
I took delivery of my CLS400 yesterday and have driven it 70kms. This car has sport package which includes sport suspension and brakes plus drive dynamic multifunction seat and AMG wheels. The ride is as good as the CLS550 when in sport position. Everything else is the same except the engine.
This is a very efficient 3.5L tt that performs better than the NA 3.5L DFI engine. There is definitely more torque and it is a superior performing engine. That being said, it is not anything close to the 4.6L tt. First thing I noticed when I started the engine was the bark of the V8 was gone. Secondly, if the car is not in sport mode it actually feels slow after driving the V8 for a couple of years. When the car is in sport mode it is smooth and powerful for a 6 cyl. The engine is so smooth it practically feels like it is stalled when idling.
Conclusion: I like the car but not as much as the V8. If super quick is not all that important, it's a better deal because it's 10K less.
I trade my cars often and this car makes for an easier trade because dealers do not pay up for used V8's. They are a tough sell on the used car market, keeping in mind a used car buyer is more operating cost sensitive.

The car was $86,225.00CDN including freight and dealer charges. I got 8% discount.
As far as financing goes, I paid cash. I'm a little long in the tooth to be taking out a loan for a car. This is my 21st MB since 1983 and in a couple of weeks my wife's E400 4M should be here to make number 22.
During that time I have had some crappy cars (1996 to 2006). The last few years have been the period in time when Mercedes has built the absolute best cars in their history. In my opinion, they are are best for the money in the premium market. Of course I'm preaching to the choir but there is a reason they are number one in North America.
PS I will post pictures as soon as I get someone to show me how.

Keep in mind we have more standard equipment in th base car. This car is loaded. Also import duties are 6.2% as opposed to 2% in the US. On top of all that MB cars are more expensive in Canada. There is no explanation why and US dealers cannot sell a new car coming back to Canada.
