Occasional rub in the wheel well when driving over pot holes or bumps
I have 20-in rims and I noticed the tires will occasionally rub on the inside of the wheel wells when driving over big bumps or pot holes. I assume this is simply life with the larger wheels? What is it like with wheels larger than 20s? Also - is it worth having someone modify the wheels well lining to avoid the rubbing?

Ive had a hell of a time getting 245/35 to work correctly.
Some pictures of the rubbing location will be a huge help. Also what brand tires are you using?

He's using your former problematic PS4S.

Yes - Michelin Pilot Sport 4S: Front 255/35/20, Rear 295/30/20
Wheel offset: 20 front, 40 rear
It does not rub during normal driving; but I hear the tires scrape the inside of the wheel well when driving over unusually large bumps - mostly on the freeway.

1. Change the PS4S tires to Michelin PS K1. I've been through this as HarryTAM knows, PS4S are taller than usual tires. It makes them a bit more comfortable to drive on but gives rubbing issues.
2. Try using 245/35/20. I couldn't get 245/35/20 PS4S to work on my CLS. But if 255/35/ works for you than 245/35 should fix your problem.
