CLS400 is History

Just noticed on the Mercedes-Benz website that the CLS 400 has been discontinued for MY 2018.

probably no one wanted the smaller engine, but MB is trying to sell everything they can as an AMG version to get more mark up.

Would seem kinda silly to add an AMG 43, V6 engine with virtually identical horsepower as the 550 and less torque. But...what do I know about marketing?

It’s not just an AMG badge

One of our cars is a 2017 AMG gle43. We upgraded to it from our 2015 Ml400 which I also liked. I don’t think the car is just rebadged like many believe. Not sure about othe x43 AMG models but we love ours. It has excellent power, very nice transmission and the exhaust sound is intoxicating. The wheels are awesome, suspension and it’s tuneability and various modes w ride height adjustability are all really great as well. The car performs much better than our 2015 model did. If it cost me an extra 10k over a regular ML400or 550 I think it’s worth it. Interior is also much nicer than our non AMG truck.

Would I like to have an AMG GLE63? You bet and I probably will in two years . I just wanted to give my opinion on these AMG x43 models people like to rag on. They are actually pretty nice. Thanks for reading.
