all the other cls550 i see are running low 12s. Is it because of the new 9 speed transmission ? Can someone please explain ? How is this car so fast. 10 1/4 mile is faster than a tuned cls63 I’m so confused

There are several CLS 550s in the 10s, and top 10 dragy MB rolling (historic not just for a month) all are 7 speed at this point afaik. The usual way to get there is amg turbos or hybrid turbos with methanol (like startline motor works), there is a 2014 E550 on full E85 on Spool Pumps with stock turbo that should also be in 10s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2D4Ypqj4W1o

Been talking to Benit and Jake they have not shared any dragys yet -- waiting on good weather and likely ironing out some traction issues. his does about 900awtq, they are expecting around 10.3-10.6 and a bit slower than big turbo cars in 60-130 or 100-200km.
Jake has mentioned the new spool pumps and a few new tables they have been working with have helped them push the platform further -- for example there is a 9.95s (on street) cls63 now

Hi Matt. You are in Dragy too? Im Deportivo on there. I think there are some room to move better times with your set up. Like 11.5x-11.7x levels. Maybe your tuner can tweak the tunes. I say because back in days I did run Dragy 11.94s trap speed 120,21 mph. No E blends, no TCU tune and no BB, no meth, no negative DA, and just pump gas. Only Stage 2 tune with 3"downpipes and M157 cat back. And my 60ft was really bad 2,04s then.

Full mods list....blackboost intake, vrp intake tube, vrp bov kit, ngk colder plugs, decatted stock downpipe, eurocharged stage 2 flex tune, eurocharged tcu tune, weistec trans pan.
Up next mbh or red star downpipes, x pipe and res delete. Then see where I'm at.

I say go and get bigger turbos, bridge pipes at same time when 3" Dp:s and mod the cooling system to work better and also better flowing cat back system. I see everything else you already have.

Sounds great! After that your car will be moving really strong. If you go that way it would be really interesting to see a built thread here some day. There are not many M278 with bigger turbos on this forum I assume.

Hard to launch the rwd and be consistent. My best 60' was a 1.9, ran the 1/4 in 12.1@119 at the track. In cooler weather i ran a 12,2 on draggy with a 4.2 0-60. I also did 11.89 and 11.72 at the track but those were the only 2 times i broke in the 11's in 4 years. The normal for me is 12.1-12.3@116-119. I now have tcu tune but haven't run it yet. Pretty sure the 550's with proper launch are mid to low 11's.

I'm curious just how fast these BiTurbos are with a tune/exhaust and any other common bolt ons in the 1/4 mile.
I'm looking to replace my E55 after 6 pretty reliable years with something a bit newer, that's still fast, has decent maintenance costs (I do most of my own work), and a lot of class and good looks for a reasonable price. The BiTurbo AMG's are out of my price range for now but I have the itch for a new car already. I've also considered a CTSV as well but it just doesn't seem to have the presence of a nice Merc.
I welcome any input on these cars performance wise or in general.
