I had the resonator AND secondary cats removed and I don't think my car sounds much different than yours. Regardless, this is the third time I have done this to a CLS and I have never had any issues with drone, check engine lights or yearly state inspections.

Install was much easier that I expected. I didn't get it perfect but unless you're super close it looks great.

Did you have any trouble fitting the Mercedes center cap in yours? I tried putting some black ebay caps in and they wouldn't fit without buckling.

I just realized that I've my had car for about 1.5 years now and haven't posted on this thread yet. It's the very least I could do, because I used a lot of inspiration from this thread and it's helped me along so far.
Mod List:
Lowering Module - car sits lower now... this was right after installing it and the the car was also trying to self level on my inclined driveway, so it looks higher
OEM type spoiler- mine came naked
OE Stage 1 ECU tune
Avalon DIY Ceramic Pro
20" 10 spoke TSW Gloss Black Wheels
OEM CLS63 AMG rear diffuser with oval CLS55 type dual tips - wanted to do something different, as opposed to the CLS63 wannabe look. Also deleted my mufflers, she is a daily and I think it sounds perfect!
I am pretty satisfied with how she looks at the moment. I may black out certain parts, but definitely not a full de-chrome.

So many tasteful mods! Please post an update about the bumper swap, I've never seen anyone do that for a 2012-2014 CLS. Are you going to vinyl wrap the bottom of the side mirrors gloss black so they flow better into the carbon fiber? Also, I just noticed the side skirts on your car; are those the ones for the 2015-2017 CLS? If so, where did you purchase those and are they carbon fiber or gloss black?

There is a thread on the 218 forum and a user uploaded the PDF. I also did this retrofit as well, it's 100x better than the 3 boring and dim colours that come stock. I will post pictures soon, it's just the front passenger door plug was not working so the seller has to ship me a new one. I then have to install that, and install the footwell lighting as well for the front right passenger on the same day. The person who made the thread did not add the footwell 12 colour ambient lighting which is so bright and looks so good.

New Michelin’s Pilot Sports 4s that are wider and thicker than the Yoko advans I went through. Apparently due to the aggressive tune the salesman recommended a taller wider tire than the stock sized tires to prevent the wearing issues I was getting and I had an alignment as well. Hopefully these will last longer and stick better than the smaller yoko ties
Was thinking about that myself .... I gotta start working on the Visual, been dealing with small projects on this car internally. Now that it’s almost tip top I’m going to probably debadge and get my roof wrapped and black out the grill and spoiler.

I've been riding on M4S for what seems like a couple of years now, love them! Probably getting fresh ones pretty soon.....sometime this year. A great tire for sure!

I’m looking at similar wheels… a couple questions.
Are these the TSW Bathurst or Clypse?
What is the offset on them?
What size tires did you go with?
Do you have any rubbing issues?
Did you need to add spacers?
If so, what size?

they were 20x9 tsw Sochi I had 15mm spacer in the rear and 5mm on the front. No rubbing issues the tires were 235/35/20 don’t remember the off set since then I have changed the wheels tsw clypse, completed the bumpers done intakes had the whole car wrapped in suntek stealth stage 2 tune and am currently putting in a full Focal Uropia M stereo system also the potential next mod would be that I have built a set of M157 turbos tomm my put in next winter. If I can save up to buy another daily. I’m very good at wasting money on this hobby and I might sel the turbos here is some pics

Pulled the trigger on some new 20" wheels with some recommended low profile tires. Everything fit and these will only be used in the summer given the nasty winters here in Michigan. Did a ton of searching in this forum and other sites before feeling comfortable and might consider a 5% increase in side wall and maybe a little wider on the next set of tires.
Anyway these are the specs:
Front - 20X9 +25 w/ Nitto Invo 245/30R20
Rear - 20X10.5 w/ Nitto Invo 285/25R20
2013 Weistec 540/715 tuned CLS 550, 2008 E350, and '07 Jaguar S-Type R

Yes you can go up a profile. Check your width with your wheel sizes.
