I recently straight piped my CLS550. Gotta say...i love it. But would be better if I can get even more sound out of it lol
These recordings are from about a month ago when I recently replaced resonator and mufflers with straight pipe. Both are cold start. Still have the main cat and the secondary cat intact.
Does removing secondary cat, which is just a canister like resonator, increase the exhaust sound? Or anything at all, if anyone knows!!
It's all blacked out, but the front star is painted in gold/bronze and yet to buy black wheels for it and then tune.
I did a few other small things of which I don't have pictures yet. Will upload them later.
BUT do let me know if the secondary cat delete would increase the exhaust note

Full exhaust. It sounds perfect on these cars. By the time you get diffuser and tips, could be paying same amount for full Amg exhaust. I got my exhaust for $600 or so with diffuser

Do you have video clip of the sound with AMG exhaust on the 550?
And is that exhaust from primary cats to the mufflers?

yeah its gloss black vinyl wrap. I love the look, just makes the car look sleeker. Dont have any really good pics showing it but here are some other pics I have.

Yeah I want to do the carbon spoiler, front lip and rear diffuser. I want to find a good rep vorsteiner kit but I cant find a rep spoiler and rear. I only see a rep front lip. I feel like there are too many RT kits out there so I wanted to do something different.
The wheels are 20x11 in the rear and 20x9 or 9.5 (cant remember).

How well do the amg mufflers fit? How much modification needs to be done? Will the cls63 mufflers (no tips) work with the stock fake tips on the cls5550?
In reference to post #56 - I think you have to take the car in for their service. I got an appt w them in November. Will be driving up from jersey w my kids and will sightsee Toronto while they work on the car. I spoke to Alex and they seem like cool people.

Think of the android head as a top level interface. The android works with existing system, you keep the same radio, backup camera, dial and button control. you can still access the old system under one of the apps.
I purchased using that link and can verify no errors. Looks great. Install was a bit challenging at first. Second one was cake once I knew what I was doing.
Nice! Who did you go to for your tune? I didn’t know anyone had a tune for the M278 that was over 600 horsepower. Have you done any dyno runs yet?
nobody makes a tune good for 602hp on an M278 and the AMG badge on the back tells you everything you need to know about what this dude is trying to do. Gonna have to put my old hat on here and be the bad guy.
