Is anyone running Continental DWS 06's on their CLS?
I just got a quote for the fronts installed at $213 each and the rears at $250 each... that a good deal? it would be for the stock 19s... would also come with a warranty..
if not, what are everyone else's preference?

I have them on our 2013. They have about 8,000 miles on them. I like them. They have great reviews. I am concerned that they may be a little noisey. To be fair, I can't tell if I'm hearing tire noise or something else. If the car was a 4matic I would blame the AWD.

I had them on my M5 and now on my CLS and they are the best tires I’ve ever owned. Way quieter than the Pzeros that we’re initially on my car and they last a long time... great tread life and excellent in the rain.

Yes I live in Colorado and mount them in the Winter. Have 19's staggered so rotate them side to side every 3k. Much quieter than my summer PZero setup and offer a smoother ride. Good grip in Dry,Wet,Snow just not as much as the PZero in the Summer.

I wish this had been an earlier thread. A couple months ago my 2017 CLS550 developed blisters on the sidewalls of my front tires. This was just after the car turned 17,000 miles and I'm sure due to hitting potholes. I don't go to anyone but the dealer to work on this car although I knew his prices would be higher. They had to be replaced and there was no warranty on side damage. They cost nearly $600 installed and were the same Pzero summer tires that came with the car. Now at 20,000 miles, the rear tires have worn down and had to be replaced, which I did with the same Pzero tires. Those cost over $750 installed at the dealer. That is a total of nearly $1400 for tires that can't go over 20,000 miles although the performance of these tires, while they lasted, was very good. I will go with the DWS or possibly Michelin next time.

damn that sucks to hear! I actually get my wheels and tires installed this week but of course hit a pothole last week that caused my rim to dent. took it to a local tire shop thinking it was a nail causing the slow leak of tire pressure and it was a bent rim on the inside.. they fixed it for $45 and i got the rim back in 5 hours. . 2 weeks ago it was a slash in my rear then this, this past week. now i just have to last the next few days without destroying something else haha. sorry that the dealer is taking you and your wallet for a spin! definitely use this forum to your advantage because it has a wealth of info from some people who for the lack of better words -- really know their ****!
I ran over a piece of pallet wood the other day and it took out my 2 passenger side tires. Luckily the rears were worn out and needed replacing but I hoped the front could be repaired. Turns out it can't. It's got 3 holes in, 2 can be repaired and one would be 'sketchy' so I opted against it - I don't want a blow out with kids in the car.
So I've got a full set of the DWS 06's going on today based on what people on here have said. They're replacing the P-Zeros that have been on since I got the car so I'm sure it'll be a big improvement. I looked at getting some Michelins but they were over $400+tax each.
They're fixing a bent rim too, doing an wheel alignment and looking to fix my leaky rear suspension. It's going to be like getting a new car back

I have DWS on my 19 spare set. They have good traction but here in NYC potholes kill them very easily. Withing 2k miles I had to replace two tires due to potholes.
When I got my summer set wheels (Cls63s 19" wheels) on my cls550 I decided to get Michelin tires as3+...I like them a lot better than DWS06...even better traction in dry/wet and snow. Quieter and much more pothole resistant.

yooo can you post or pm a clip of your exhaust sound? Drive by and cold start? Do you have X or H pipe or straight pipes with stock mufflers?

I have them on my Lexus GS, best All season tire available. Mercedes replaced all my moms tires under warranty I tried to get them to install DWS06, they would only install the Continental Contact Pro’s which suck compared to the DWS imo.

This is for my CLS 550 2013....
Anyone comment on the DWS vs the extreme contact sport? I don't need an 'all season' tire in Memphis and both have great reviews. Also I had thoughts of going 285/35 R19 instead of the 285/30 R19 as the potholes here are killing me....Thoughts?

Another option would be to get new 18" wheels and mount 285/35R18. That's what I did when I purchased a set of winter tires. Since I was going to put them on a 2nd set of wheels anyway, I downsized to 18" wheels.
If you do downsize, choose wheels very carefully. The front brakes and especially the calipers are very large. Despite matching the offset (35mm), my aftermarket wheels barely clear the calipers in front. I'm going to add 3mm wheel spacers to improve the clearance. You can forget about 17" wheels.
Oh, and the DWS is known for it's excellent snow capability versus most All Seasons. If you don't get snow, there are probably better choices.
