Considering 2012 CLS 550- Comments Please
I'm sure everything I'm looking for is buried in here somewhere, but looking for quick responses. I've owned a few CLK's, but considering the CLS. I know air suspension is a concern. This car is CPO so I'd have coverage for a year. Car has 55K. Have the bi-turbo motors proven reliable? Anything glaring I should look for or be concerned about? Thank you in advance for the assistance.

just scroll down the c218 forum -- there is a wealth of info for our cars! these engines are seemingly bullet proof and from what ive gathered, they dont tend to have many issues so alot of the posts youll see is from us wanting upgrades and advice about em! get the car, get a tune and youll love it!

Look for a grinding sound on cold start ups just for couple of seconds. Chain tensioners are also a common problem with m278 and if not dealt with early can lead to chain issues. Other then that the engine is super reliable. Maintain is properly and it will go a long way.
