Picking up my CLS400 this week!!
Hey all,
I've driven my 07' CLK350 for a real long time now... so I just bought a 15' CLS400. I'm a pretty avid DIY'r with many posts over on the 209 thread. First thing I gotta say is these 218's and 219's must be 10x better than the 209s based on the lack of issues I'm seeing in the threads. Seriously, take a look over there.
I'm brushing up on any issues mainly because I'm trying to decided whether an extended warranty is really worth it for me. I'll have the car for 4 months before the regular warranty runs out so I'm planning on bringing it in for an initial service just to have the dealership do a check over and fix any TSB's. After that I'm on my own. A little scary considering I had a CPO warranty on my CLK when I ran into the infamous balance shaft issue (that alone saved me $6000).
Someone please tell me this is a solid car and that I don't need an additional warranty.

honestly to be on the safest side, airmatic or not, get the warranty... the complexities within these cars can yield some anomalies out of seemingly nowhere... it is best to play it safe!
