Question Keeping the Engine Cool

As in my previous thread, I have my car tuned by Eurocharged. Though I haven't been pulling the car hard enough for it to heat above the normal levels or overheat at all, I'm curious to know if anyone is running different methods to keep their engine cool. Though I'm not looking into meth injection or dry ice chest in the trunk, which are expensive.

To begin with, I was thinking about upping on the engine oil? To the 5W50 Mobil1, labeled as racing/normal driving oil. It has higher viscosity rate than 0w40 so it keeps things lubricated a bit more at higher temperatures.

And what about coolants? Anyone using like a performance coolant on their vehicles?

What other inexpensive mods/products are you guys using to keep the engine cool? Does hood vents help? Removing the plastic covers?

My car usually runs around 90 degrees C. But never reached 100. 120+ is the red zone.

I know one of the vendors here sells a bigger IC pump for the M278, and its not too expensive either, maybe that might help with the temps. Also weirdly enough, why does the M278 run hot? My previous E350 and E550s ran right at 70-75, however the my M278 can reach almost 95 at times lmao.

Yea I have no idea why they run that hot. My old e350 ran below 80 as well. But I checked with a friend of mine who does mechanical work and owns a smog shop, says the new ones usually run hot. No clue why. Maybe only the V8s??

I'm just trying to take precautions so at any point time in future that mine doesn't overheat and blow **** up.

I do know that Renntech has a new IC pump but that is $1400. I'm not going to go that high lol So far I haven't had any issues at all, but I might keep looking for other ideas. I saw someone cutting the hood and installing the hood vents on his M3. By looking at it, it didn't seemed so hard to do. I saw some ppl with c63 507 style hoods with the hood vents that look really good, maybe I can add those later. IDK, just an idea on the mind.

Add a higher flowing IC pump at the same time.. there are inexpensive options.

The intercooler coolant temp is a bigger issue than the actual engine cooling system. You won't see high engine coolant temps unless something fails. Intake air temp is another story.
