I did some searching but came up with nothing. I know a few people here and a friend of mine running the UPD spacer kit. Another friend of mine bought it and threw it away bc he saw it as trash. Some love it. To me, I don't know if it really makes sense for the spacer because the intake pipe and the location of it remain the same. The housing can just hold a tiny bit of extra air in it. But the air that is coming through, is still at the same volume due to the same pipes. I could be wrong. But I'm not buying it.

Other than that, I couldn't find anything else. This car does need a better air intake system. The only solution I see is the Water/Meth kit. It provides denser air, cools down air temperature, "steam cleans" the engine heads from carbon build-up, etc while also giving you a pretty good amount of power gain.

Yeah that’s what I was seeing too. Not so sure about that setup myself it doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense to me. Well I just bought a K&N filter and I’m getting a tune anyway so guess I’ll have to stick with that for now...

just ordered the K&N so don’t know yet. But as I said I’m ordering a Stage 2 tune from Eurocharged so that will give me the majority of the benefits.. I was just trying to optimize things before I put the tune on.. (tune up, brake job, intake filter replacement, new tires, and so on..)

Yup, I'm doing that as well.

Yeah, I don't believe the filters alone will help much, if at all unless the airflow is increased. It is also to consider that the filters that are "high-flow" filters will also not filter the particles as effectively as the stock OEM filters. Unless we can get the air intake tubes located in an area with direct air-flow and wider tubes with the bigger airbox and bigger turbos, I think the filters alone won't do much. This is why I think the meth/water kit would be more effective and they don't cost too much either. IMO.

One way to get slightly better results might be to get steel/aluminum pipes and cover with gold film or a heat wrap on the air intake tubes and the turbo pipes to the engine to keep the air inside the pipes cooler which will lead to slightly better power numbers.

Jeez, that kit is $1,200 lol Just my preference, I still think meth kit would be far better alternative to that Black Boost's CAI kit. Meth kit has more pros to offer than an expensive CAI kit.

I bought this off eBay but doesn’t quite fit properly or I need to try and reinstall it, so I installed the oem ones I ordered before these. Until I get the time to try and fit them properly. But these are what I ordered https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Be...-/254525691152

Where the tape is where it kept slipping off, the left side fit like a glove but have to readjust and get new clamps for the right side. I love the look, don’t know about performance 🤷‍♂️

Okay the absolute best is the brabus system. It is basically a ram air system with the air going through vents thru the hood directly into the air boxes which don't have a top in this application:

For most people the UPD system will be the best. I use UPD riser with K&N and it is different.

Not pragmatically true in m157 and m278.

The stock filter is a good 1.25" "deeper" than the K&N or similar filter, which results in the OEM filter protruding into the air intake tube and takes up quite a bit of the bottom. Going to K&N apparently adds like 5hp and UPD riser adds an additional 20-25hp: "
Dyno test show 23-25 rear wheel hp gains on a stock car . Tuned and moded cars will see higher gains. Customers have seen 18 hp plus over a K&N filter with the UPD cold air induction kit. "

Also UPD has a picture on their page and list the numbers above: http://ultimatepd.com/2011-2015-merc...boost-kit.html

VRP system is the cheapest at like 250. I think Weistec offers a version that is anodized red. Pretune I'd consider changing the sparks. Apparently the new MB spark plugs are essentially one step colder according to OE tuning. I almost finished the job it takes a while for a novice (just waiting for a new coil, comes in tomorrow).

Yeah man. K&N + UPD Risers + Resonator delete makes it feel like a ~500 crank hp car. You can hear the turbos. Let me upload a video of my car rev'ing she breaths really well. She isn't as fast as when she is tuned but even oem with ESP off she feels like a fun car for the roads.

Dblok1113 did those hoses not come with the clamps? Looking at the listing on Ebay you included the images show some black hose clamps.

yeah I noticed that as well I’m not sure if I misplaced the clamps or what but I need to order those clamps to fix it. I bought mine off eBay from that same person maybe I’ll write them and see if they will send a few more clamps.

If you guys allow me to think out of the box, and as a guide to imitate the Brabus top opened boxes, you can simply flip over your stock M157 airboxes upside down, swap left & right and trim the bottom (by a dremel) to open a square, the bottom became the top of course, and thus, the intake sucks air from hood vents like the Brabus style. I will try to do this trial on my W204 C63 M157 swap.

Please see the photo and sorry for bad writing

My vote is for the Blackbooost intake - likely as effective as the Brabus system for much less.
