Spare tire??
Brief back story. I once had a 2009 CLS550. Great car! Moved to a Porsche Panamera GTS...also a great car, but like so many cars now, NO SPARE!
So now I am considering moving back to a CLS. I have searched and cannot find any clear answers as to what series CLS (218 and 257) have a spare tire
on board and still have a usable trunk. I see listings for a CLS spare tire kit...but I cannot find a real answer as to how this is implemented.
The 2009 (219) had a donut type spare, which was adequate, while maintaining a trunk. The spare tire for the Panamera eliminated the use of the trunk..
Before I begin looking at the type 218 and 257, I would like to know the answers....any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

W218 2016 U.K. Spec has space saver spare
My 2016 U.K. Spec has a space saver spare under the boot floor and does not effect the boot space whatsoever
However the only time I needed to use it I finally managed to undo the wheel nuts with the woefully inadequate wrench Mercedes provide only to find the alloy stuck to the hub.Finally I submitted and called out breakdown who jacked the car up with a heavy duty trolley jack and then got under the car and hit the wheel several times with a rubber mallet to release the wheel.As soon as I got home I removed each wheel and put copper grease on the inside of each wheel.

Yes, spare tire included, folding back seats - optional. And the trunk i'd say it's bigger than the E-class, due to slight longer size. But the trunk entrance it's pretty small, i'd say.

Folding rear seat: optional......where in many other cars it's standard.......thanx MB. I've had the spare you inflate in my trunk so long, since I got the car in 2012.......it couldn't be safe to use now could it?
