Hello everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself to the section (not sure how active it is tbh). I have been on the forums for a while (w204 - didn't trade it) and so I'm familiar with everything.

Anyways, picked up this beautiful CLS400 4Matic with Airmatic not too long ago, and so far I am enjoying it a lot (except that Harmon Kardon seems worse than Audio20 wth). Was originally looking for 2012+ CLS550 4matics, but this was exceptional color combo and in good condition. I'm also impressed with the power of the biturbo 6.

Anyways, here's the pic you've all been waiting for:

What a head turner. And suprisingly, very rare. The air suspension is awesome and the car is well worth every penny imo.

Looks sick. Love the carbon fiber front lip you got there. If you ever decide to tune it, you'll be so happy with even just stage 1, it'll turn into an animal.

Welcome aboard. Sweet ride! I’m active on this site all the time—it’s really cool. Benzworld.org is great as well. I’ve never seen a CLS with Airmatic. Love the carbon fiber lip 😎.
I have a 2016 CLS400 4Matic in Magnetite Black. Best car I’ve ever owned, in every way possible. And definitely agree regarding the HK sound system. It’s a bit too tinny for me.

Odd because I feel like many of the US 400's have airmatic, but oddly they don't have front/rear parking sensors, massage seats, 360 camera, heated steering wheel, or rear heated seats (not sure if this was available in the US).

Thanks for the welcome!

Usually CLS400's don't come with Airmatic as it is an option, this one is decently optioned out. I didn't realize that parking sensors come with park assist (self parking) which I guess this doesn't have, but I really don't care. It does have massaging heated/cooled seats as well as dynamic bolsters. Very cool. And Airmatic - seriously impressed. Stupid quiet in comfort mode, can't even feel the tires, and sport changes it to a whole different animal.

I have lots of plans for modifications so I will probably be posting here and on youtube frequently.

Also, the carbon front lip is just the front lip wrapped. I'll have a larger real carbon lip soon

I was originally going to go with a Renntech style spoiler, like I have on my w204, but the previous owner put a smaller carbon one on and I like a curve it has around the Mercedes badge, so that might be one of the last things I do.

Nice pickup! I got my CPO '15 550 AMG Sport Line RWD in August 2020, Designo Diamond White Metallic. P02 Pkg, Lane tracking pkg, park assist pkg, rear decklid spoiler, wood wheel, multicontour seats, etc. Porcelain/Blk leather with Black ash wood trim, love it! Sitting on Stance SF07 wheels, 20x9 & 20x11 and lowered with OBD Lowering module. I 100% recommend picking up the module vs lowering links, because it is so easy to adjust on the fly, no need to jack up the car etc. Just plug and play

I saw your car looking through threads! Looks beautiful!

I am yet deciding on 20's or 19's. I have 19's on my w204 so maybe I'll throw them on just to get a good look and see if I like it.

I know it's early in your setup, but I heard about bad tire wear/alignment with the lowering. I plan on getting the module anyways (do you have a link?) but I also don't want to be wearing tires out very early.

I also read a bunch of times that 255 wide don't fit up front - but my car has 255 front, and drives perfectly in either mode, no rubbing...weird. Anyways with a new set of wheels I'd probably go for 285's in the back at least.

Probably will do a 550 caliper conversion for cheap and make a video - but that's planning for the future. Not sure why this has the older style calipers, maybe after 16+ they moved on to the pretty ones.

20s fit the car so well, I opted to go that route. The obvious sacrifice is less sidewall and more prone to damage. As you said the airmatic makes the ride smooth regardless! My fronts are 255/30 and rears are 305/25 - zero rubbing. However I also have the lowering module and have it at a custom height to my liking.

Looks great on your car, which is the perfect color for it. I don’t think it would look nearly as nice on my Magnetite Black car though.

I'm on 255/35 and 285/30 20s, I don't like super skinny tires. I normally cruise in stock comfort mode and slam it when parked. I have only done maybe 1500 miles on this wheel and tire setup, I barely ever drive the car but I don't care about wear
