High mileage M157?
Considering a CTS-v Coupe or a CLS/E63 AMG with the M157.
I was reading about some issues on the m157 and oil consumption. A used long block(m157) is $12k not including labor, an LSA short block is around 5k.
Whichever car I get I plan on keeping well into the 150-200k+. I plan on tuning and modding it.
How stout is the M157? The ones in my budget have around 80-100k miles, CTSV in my budget have around 70k miles. I prefer RWD, but the 4matic doesn’t sound bad either.
has anyone had both or experienced problems on the M157? Curious to see how many high mileage examples there are.
