2016 Mercedes Benz CLS400
2016 CLS400 headlights
Hey everyone I’m new to this forum. I have a 2016 Cls 400 and I noticed that my car has the same style headlights as the 2014 models but they also have some 2016 models with the newer style headlights like the ones on the 2016 C300. Does anybody know why they made two different style headlights for that year?

I was curious about same question for a while, and couldn't figure it out yet. I'd like to see what others say. I have the newer style headlights and mine is 2015...

Pretty sure for the American CLS400's, the original owner had to purchase the premium 2 package. "The biggest chunk of change goes to the $6,900 Premium 2 package, with a long list of goodies that includes LED headlamps, ventilated front seats, an electronic trunk closer, and keyless entry." In your case, they didn't, which is why they have the 2012-2014 style lights.
Other markets such as Canada, these were apart of the premium package. "$5,950 Premium Package fitted to this tested which included adaptive high-beam assist (AHA), power trunk, rear window sunshade, passive lane keeping assist, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, active Multibeam headlights, 360° camera, Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 sound system, and keyless-go."

Indeed you are right, the first owner got almost all packages he could, which is definitely nice!
So basically that's an easy way to tell apart if someone has premium 2 package or not - just by looking at the headlights?
