Decided to Swap Analog Clocks

I’ve been feeling a bit itchy and decided to change out the stock analog clock that came with my CLS550, with the AMG IWC version..

it actually wasn’t too time consuming...

here’s the result:

no not the android screen. That’s the stock screen for the 2015-2018 facelift...

The bigger question is: I’d love to find out if the new 2020 GLC or C Class 10.25” screen will direct replace the CLS 8” screen? A Mercedes direct replace would be a quick and excellent modification.

however I’m willing to bet that the screen projection will be off center or just simply not fill the entire available larger screen because the head unit video driver can’t do it...

Ok my clock should come in tmrw (actually bought a whole dash). What is the way to install this? Remove the dash piece or is there a way to remove the vent without the dash?

I would say it is really easy. Like 4 screws 4 wires, 3 to unclip completely, 4 tabs. Just have the star tip and make sure you take note above of the place to depress the clip.

I did a video and write up from like a DIY prospective I'm not an expert: http://tunedmercedes.com/electronics...your-mercedes/ .

Thanks everyone here for your help and the great directions above. the hardest part is there is a catch under the dash near the steering column, you have to get that to release the dashboard. I would guess maybe an hour of really easy work. The best part to me is the detail at night. Really love fine swiss watches, and IWC is a well respected (German) watch brand, they nailed this clock face imho.
