M278 Oil in wiring harness
I have a 2012 MB with M278 engine. My mechanic found oil in the wiring harness and He tried to clean it multiple times but still couldn't resolve the problem. He told me I need to replace the wiring harness. How much is the wiring harness? What about the labor cost?

yeah... faulty camshaft sensors. Check out this thread:

While oil harness is not causing any issues (wires are isolated after all), problem starts when oil starts accumulating in the ecu effectively flooding it...

Parts are fairly reasonable. Labor is not. DIY is the answer, if you DIY. Otherwise pay what they say you have to pay. Indy will be cheaper than dealer.

They are not cheap, lucky for me it was still under the 3/3k warranty. 1 month in CEL came on, took it back to the Benz dealer and they fixed it. Got Invoice showing it was around $11k total for harness, cam shaft sensors, O2 sensors and labor. My eyes popped out of my head a little looking at the total.
Good luck, but def get it done before it gets to ECM.
