Manual shift mode on 2012 CLS550

Does it actually do anything like the manual mode in AMG cars, or is it just an extra mode that does the exact same thing as the others? I've yet to find any difference with using M mode or just using the paddle shifters in S mode. It still automatically upshifts and downshifts on it's own. It doesn't even give me a little bit of time on redline before shifting, it just does it immediately.

Is there any way to make it function like the AMG manual mode, so no matter what, it will stay in what gear you selected?

Damn really?? I don't have an M mode on my CLS and wanted to get it coded in. Infuriating how it downshifts on it's own - the paddle shifters basically just sets the maximum allowable gear which is not at all what I want. I just want a true manual mode

I made a thread, and someone pointed me to mbhouse.ca
They used to have an M mode and Agility (kind of like sport+) mode listed, but now it is no longer listed? Might be worth talking to them

They don't even do that for me. It literally functions no different from automatic mode. Upshifts/downshifts exactly how it would if I was in E mode or something. If it set a maximum gear and didn't go above it then that's not horrible, but it doesn't even do that.

I will contact mbhouse and see if they can do anything.

My paddles work exactly how they're supposed to. If I pull one or the other, the car changed into manual mode and it will hold whatever gear I have it in. I usually do it to downshift so I can control it, but I haven't had any problems. My car is tuned by I don't think that makes a difference.
