I've done it twice with the ES at night if that's the Lexus you mean - I think I just keep wanting to see one on the road so bad that I am imagining things...lol.

i wouldnt be so fast to knock lexus, they are setting the bar for customer service and reliability, and i quote my MB saleman, "maybe mercedes could take a few pointers from lexus on customer service", after discussing MBs lack luster customer service these days...

i agree with adam76 about the service quality - i think Toyota in general and Lexus specifically work seriously hard at quality and MB must take some cues from them in this area.

I looked at the ES300 in my consideration of the CLS500 and while there are some design cues that have resemblance, in my opinion, the overall sheet metal is sculpted in some uniquely different ways, and the interiors are even more different. It is not too difficult to see the difference between Japanese and German concepts of interior space, even through the similarities.

but at night, in silhouette, or in a flash out-of-the-corner-of-your-eye i can see where it could be confusing as to which car you are seeing. my wife likes the headlights of both cars, so centering on those cues could be confusing. but she also makes a lot of determination of a car's looks by viewing them from the back and she can identify cars far better than i can from their taillights and trunk lid configurations.
