Congrats Anian! I wouldn't be able to sleep right now if it was this weekend! Lucky man!

I'm already working out the deal on the lease over the phone with the dealer so I can just go in and pick her up - not to mention already making appintments for the tint, lowering, wheels and stereo. I'm a huge audiophile so the stereo is my favorite part - going to most likely do Eclipse's new head unit with the screen (not fold out) that should fit perfectly into the big din area where the current head unit is on Mercedes and then all of the amps, speakers, etc. by Reus Systems. www.reusaudio.com Nothing that will rattle windows - just pure clarity.

I will defintiely keep everyone posted with pictures. Anyone else doing mods already please post pics ASAP - I love seeing all the different ideas everyone has.

you are very brave replacing the factory head unit. very interested to see how it pans out. why wouldnt you want to just keep stock head unit, and do the speakers and amps like you mentioned? im considering doing this myself, but i wouldnt touch the head, you loose all the integration. did you not order Nav\HK7?

Yeah - it is going to be interesting - little nervous myself, but from what I heard it should work just fine - kept the head unit in my last E500 and watched how others worked before I decided to do this. Since I'm redoing the entire stereo I just got the basic MB system with no nav - that way nothing important is tied into the head unit. I've talked to other people who have done them and so far so good. I know it is very brave - trust me...lol. The stereo sounds great off the stock head unit, but I had to try this at least once. Worst case scenario you'll see a really nice Eclipse head unit on EBay in a month and I'll be buying the good old in-dash 6 disc changer from Mercedes...LOL. The best thing I'm super happy about is once again there is no cutting or damage to the factory interior involved - wish me luck Adam. I will let you know how it goes either way.

Adam or anyone who might know? Is there a difference in the standard MB headunit and the HK head unit? Anyone know this at all? I would imagine they are the same except for the amps, speakers but I wasn't sure. I know logic 7 is an option on the HK, but I would imagine this is from reading the system.

Thanks!
