brabus ?

I read a lot about Brabus mods and tuning for increased power, but in the engineering wasteland of the Southern USA, a search for "Brabus" turns up nothing. Anyone know where to get these wonderful mods without shipping the car to Europe or California? Any recommendations on mods to increase hp without turning the car into a hot rod?

I guess a Brabus ECU would be a good, conservative start...

I doubt any add on performance upgrade will give you a lot of boost. The usual upgrade are exhaust, ECU and filter. All these upgrades the manufacture will claim 20, 30 HP+ but it will be tough to proof it unless you dyno before and after the upgrade. Bottom line is I think after you spent $3K+ I don't think you will feel a lot of different. But if you find something that I don't know please share with us.

Thanks,

i know a guy who will fly out to do installs out of state. i know he makes it out to Atlanta a lot. Carlsson, as well as Brabus have a lot of options, but these mods are not cheap. Just for very rough numbers, youre looking at 3k just for an exhaust system, base HP upgrades kits are usually in the 8k range, super chargers around 16k, and full engine reworks for 30k and up. not sure how much you could do for under 3k. and thats just for performance, no cosmetics...

I played around with M113 (5.0V8) engine in past years.
No hot rod & cost effective, I'd advice the following
(1) Cats upgrade
(2) Chip tuning
Probably 30 ps gain from stock. $.02
