1100 Miles and Two Concerns

1100 Miles and Two Concerns
I have 1100 miles on the car and I have two concerns - wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar:
1. If I haven't driven the car in a day or so, for the first 10 minutes of the drive, the car vibrates. So obvious, that I can see my hand shaking on the steering wheel and feel the vibration in my legs and feet.
2. If stopped at a light for more than 20 seconds, once I left off the brake and push the gas, I hear and somewhat feel, a grinding mechanical noise. It makes this noise for about 1-2 seconds, then stops.

#1 is most likely the tires. Sometimes, they will lose theur shape after sitting for a few days. Once they heat up, everything goes back to normal. Very common and nothing to worry about.

1) It sounds like you need to bring the car back to dealer for a FREE rotation job. It stated in the service manual/schedule.
2) I'm not sure yours like mine. I have a sound like dumping some air out from the front of the car when I stop. I spoke with the dealer and they told me it is from Airmatic suspension. I plan to bring the car back when I reach 1K miles and have them inspect more regarding this problem.

Unfortunately there is no tire rotation with the CLS as there tires are staggered.

I think you mixed up with swapping the wheels/tires front to rear. I think MB offers high speed rotation for the tires and make sure the tires are okay. In this case, mjeagent can inspect the tires vabration by this free service, if it stills vabrate after the service then mjeagent should request the dealer for a warranty claim and get a set of new tires.

You're getting flat spotting in the tires, some tires resist flat spotting better than others, with Michelin being the best for me. What tires came with your car?

Not sure what tires are on the car, I'll check when I get home this evening. I do know that it is the CLS500 with the AMG package, if this helps to figure out in anyway what make of tire I have.
