Didn't even know it was missing...Too bad they didn't have the solar panel option that they had for the 03/04 E, a/c on while the car was off. Oh well would've been useful in cali with summer coming.

is there an AC Off button? if there is, try hitting that, i don't have the 'REST' button in my car, but the AC Off button is the same thing, it's just not labeled that way...

The rest is not only for heat. It recirculates air as close to the temp that the AC was set on before shutting down. Good for all climates.....

DEFINATELY something I'm not happy with about the CLS.
We get 100+ temps for weeks at a time here in the Valley.
I'm having a few doubts myself.
When the new CL and S launch, this car wont be in my garage anymore.

Just by Chance...
Has anyone checked the owners manual to see if it's a feature without a button...it's been known to happen.
I would check mine but my car and manual are in the shop for their 1500 mile check-up and to figure out why I have absolutely no range with my garage door opener...and why the fanunder my hood sounds like it's ready to take off for a flight to Cuba.

In my old W210 E55 the REST button was to keep the heat on for a while (i.e. 20 min)by using the heat build up in the engine block. It was not suppose to circulate cool air in the summer, as there is no way to built up cooling in a engine (ie ice storage). Guessing the Canada has more of a need for the feature than the U.S. is why it was elimated.
