No valet protection for the trunk
I valet parked my car and tried to lock the trunk with the "valet" key, just like my other two benz's, and could not get it to work. I spoke w/ the service advisor and he said the CLS valet key will only lock the glove box not the trunk. I looked in the manual and he seems to be correct
Anyone have this problem??

MB eliminated the trunk valet lock in late ‘04 with the e-class (supposed safety reasons) and it carried over to the CLS, as you experienced you cannot lock the trunk any longer for valet but you can still lock the glove box.

Guess what? I took delivery of my CLS (built 8/05) to my surprise the valet key works as it should.
Also, I’ve come to realize that the easy-entry/exit feature still exists however now only the steering wheel moves in comparison to my ’03 E320 where both the seat and wheel moved. When MB announced they were removing this feature I thought it was removed in its entirety.

Check you settings using your steering wheel controls, there is an option for easy entry/exit for both the seats and steering wheel and it may not be selected. It works fine in my car.

My build date was April of 05. The way I access this is by selecting "Settings" in the cluster display, then select "Convenience", then Easy entry/exit. It list three options. Off, Steering Wheel, and Steering Wheel & Seat. That's strange that they would remove this option, but then again MBUSA is always changing things.

I notice the reverse seat feature only works if you happen to be shorter and have the seat moved up alot. Now if you're taller, the seat doesn't move back because it has exceeded a certain theshold and doesn't want to move anymore back so that the seat doesnt crush a possible person sitting in the back.
I might be wrong since I haven't tested this but another way to see is if everyone post their height and if reversing works or not.

I checked my CLS and it does not have the Trunk Valet Locking; but does have the Seat and Steering Easy Entry. Your car is the opposite. I guess MB added one feature and deleted another. Can someone else please confirm this.

Here’s another thing. Does your car have lights underneath the outside mirrors? I had them on my ’03 E320 however they removed them from the E-Class yet on the CLS I have them.
Also I have crash responsive head restraints, do you have these?

I actually didn't think MB listened to customers complaints. A lot of people complained about the steering wheel control radio presets not working and they still haven't fixed this yet; hopefully they will soon.
My CLS has the lights under the mirrors, but I don't know how to check for the crash responsive head restraints.

Crash responsive head restraints should be listed in your standard equipment (if you have them). I noticed that in the E-Class I was able to pivot the bottom of the head restraints in and out however in the CLS both headrests are stationary this could also be a sign.
