Deal or no deal?

Hi all.
I have sold my 2007 CLS 550 that was in an accident.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on another one. I'd like to run down the specs and msrp and give you the number I've negotiated. Please give me your honest oppinion.

Black on black leather
P02 package
Ipod integration
Parktronic
Wood steering wheel
Wood/leather shift knob
Cornering fog lights
Trunk Closer
Total msrp...................$76670 incl 1300 gg tax

My best negotiated deal..$72893
discount $3777

Let me know what you think.

$3777 seems like a marginal discount, but not necessarily unfair. i would try to beat them down to 10% off msrp. i don't know how successful that would be, but i would certainly try.

how desperate are they to sell? how bad do you want it? give them a taste of their own medicine and play hardball, if you have the patience.

i hope you get that beautiful car at a good price. black on black sounds hot!

i think you can still get a few more dollars discount.

Thanks,
I found one with the AMG package but my significant other put the nix on anything over 80K. Spoilsport.

The AMG package adds wheels, paddle shifters, bodywork.
Like the wheels, not sure what to do with paddle shifters, like the body work but don't want to trade the p2 package or other options for it.

Another option is to wait another 2 months or so and place an order for the '08 model. That's what I did last year and I got every option I wanted and plenty of time to negotiate with diff. dealers for the best price.

it's a deal alright,.. but not the best one you can get.
CLS550
P02
AMG sport
Voice control
including destination delivery
gas guzzler,
total MSRP $79,215
............................
invoice is 74,415.
maybe dealer isnt going to let it go or invoice unless its pushing the model year.
hypothetically, i know someone who purchased the car i mentioned above for $250 over invoice.. and this was supposedly back in August 2006 when 550 just came out.

So ya... shop around... if they say.. 'we are losing money if we sold it at discount $3500' etc etc... dont believe them... if they were losing money, they won't even talk to you hehehe...

JD32 thanks for your message.
I will continue to shop around. I think I have found the car I want but it looks like it's still on a ship.
