First thing you should do is have a German MB dealer remove your limiter, standard practice there. Just check your tires to make sure you have a good speed rating.

Thanks guys!! thats on of the questions i had for them is can they remove the limiter. as far as tires go from all the cars i seen at the dealer here the speed rating was 155+ or better known as zr. i get to drive the car for about 9 days around so when i get back i will have a whole bunch of photos for all!

Regarding the speed limiter removal, you should probably not speak with anyone connected to MBNA about that, which may include the delivery people. My family has removed the speed limiters from all of our cars, and our service center did it for us. Here is the contact information for our service center, since I know they will do it (and it is only about 35km from Stuttgart).

Autohaus Wildermuth GmbH & Co. KG
Autorisierter Mercedes-Benz Service und Vermittlung

Also, there is a VERY nice castle on the way, in Ludwigsburg. Ask for Schloß Ludwigsburg. They can certainly tell you how to get there from the service center.

I wonder if built to Euro standards or for import into the US You may wish the Euro Command Center due to its DVD compatability. If not, I would recommend a quick change out. Go visit MBDOCTOR.COM

Great to hear your having a blast! If your still in Stuttgart, try to go to the Porsche factory for a tour, I believe they make you have a resevation, so check into that before you drive over. But maybe they are on the same holiday

I used rennlist, which you have to be a member to host pics.
I believe this is a free site to use.

Hey Kevin the place is called Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol. www.interalpen.com
Full story you know i have to! after all your the reason why i looked in to it. Oh yeah i don’t rember if i told you or not, but when the factory was closed i did an interview with MB. They are trying to get more people to take they trip. so when i was telling them what made me want to come and do the trip i couldn’t help but tell them that you told me about the trip that you took and how much fun you had. so that’s where i heard of it and looked in to it from there. i must say they put you up in all 5 star hotels. there are a few places that i would have never have gone in my life but thanks for this trip it made it possible. Again I would like to say thank you for informing me of this amazing trip!

European delivery

Hi Joey!I was reading the forum and I realized you went for a European delivery for the CLS. Cograts!!
I am doing the same thing. I have to go pick up the car from Stutgart on August 15th. I have a quick question, 2 actually . The MB dealer in Seattle is asking me to add the car to my own insurace starting with the date I take delivery in Stutgart. This doesn't make sense to me since over there it is insured. Did you have to do the same thing? Second, I saw you removed the speed limiter? This won't wave your warranty? How much did that cost you?
Anything else I should be aware of while there, something that you wish you had known?

Thanks!
Adrian

Hey Adrian, adding the car to your insurance is BS, its insured for 30 days in Europe and all they way until it gets to the local dealer.

European delivery

Thank you Kevin!
Of course is BS, I know the car has all the isurance needed but the dealer wants me to do this. For now I told them I am not going to do it . So.. we'll see where will this going to end. So, that's why I was asking Joey maybe it is a stupid rule I have to faloow.. on my money. They claim is because MB Finance needs that for financing.. but yeah it sounds as BS.

Hey Kevin, Im not 100% sure of that. i was told that its insured for 15 days, plus the time it gets to the local dealer. if you where going to be driving it for more then 15 days then you would have to get extra insurance.
