Shopping for CLS500 or CLS550

Wanted to know if i can get some feedback on either of the two. I saw a few that I am interested in but they dont have the options i wanted. Can the parktronic, keyless go and automatic truck release be added to the car if i buy used and its not on there already? If so what is usually the cost for the install? How well do these cars do in snow, approx 1-2 inches of snow? I understand its a rear wheel drive, but i have driven a C class in snow before (2"), and it did not do soo well. Any difference with these?

i think parktronic is the only thing you can add, but not 100% sure. umm.......this car probally has torque which would probally help in snow but prolly not much better than the C class.

Smile Hmm...

I would not recommend driving a CLS in the snow period. Not so much as to performance, but why do it? Drive a bucket or some other car/truck for snow stuff.

On the options, the answer is no. I asked the same thing before, and none of those would be able to be installed and/or are not cost effective. Get one with all that stuff on it. Just my 2 cents!

You'd probably be better off having your local Dealer do a search for the car with the options you want as opposed to having them added after you bought the car... Reason is, not only will you pay for the options, you'l have to pay the labor for the install. I'm not really sure if some of those options can be added after the fact anyway... Someone else may chime in on that. As far as a winter car, you'll be handicapped by the performance tires and the rear wheel drive somewhat but in Virginia, you could probably invest in a set of good dedicated winter tires ( Blizzaks, etc. ) and get by... My mom live in VA for years driving an RWD Mercedes with dedicated snows and she did fine...

you'd be better of buying one with the options you want, installing these things afterwards by the dealer = $$$$$, let not being possible for options like keyless go etc.

IMO..if you can manage the extra $, go with the 550, 80 more hp is a big improvement over the "old" 500 engines
