I've been contemplating a 2009 CLS550. Originally I thought maybe an E550, but I would really much prefer the sexier look and nicer interior on the CLS. I am concerned about lack of AWD since I live in NJ, but people manage, I guess I will learn too.

Now, my real question is, what color should I get? I had my heart set on Black/Black when I saw a picture of the facelifted version on the German Mercedes site, but the car I test drove today was Capri Blue with Cashmere interior and it was nice. I really liked the combo and it was definately not something you see all the time. I have Pewter/Black on my C so I don't want to get that again. What do you guys like for the CLS?

I really would love a Majestic Black CLS, but it's not available. Has anyone seen a Flint Grey CLS, how does that look?

white/red would look the best, assuming you're going to have it built to your specs i'd definitely go with the red interior which is available if i recall correctly

I can understand seeking others' input when making a car purchase decision. But how can you expect other people to tell you what color to get?

Personally I want my next 4 door car to be burgandy (MB and BMW both have amazing burgandies right now) with black interior. Then I would black out the lights, the rims and the emblems and tint the ***** out of it. Might look better on an M5/E than a CLS. Just my .02

The white looks great, but black hits it! I am partial.

Diamond White with Cashmere interior. I would have said Red interior but they dropped that for the 09's...boo, but the new Cashmere interior set up looks beautiful.

White/Cashmere seems to be popular. I finally saw two 2009 CLS550s (at two different dealers) and the each had White/Cashmere in stock as their only vehicle so far.

Right now I have narrowed it to a few choices:

Black (I like Grey/Cashmere/Black interiors equally with Black exterior)

Flint Grey with either Black or Grey

And I have to say I kind of like Indium Grey for the CLS, but probably not enough to buy it and live with it.

I have to do some searching, but if anyone has a Flint Grey CLS I would love to see it as that seems to be somewhat uncommon for this car.

If I do end up going the E550 route (to get the 4Matic), I will definately get either the Cognac or Sahara Beige interior, I love these colors and wish they were offered on the CLS.

Actually the Diamond White seems to be fairly rare, but Arctic White seems to be everywhere. The Diamond White comes off more as a silver/cream white and looks great in the sunlight, not so much in the dark. As far as the interior you can always go with ash or black, but ash seems to show dirt a lot more than the other two colors and black seems boring anymore to me.

I have seen one Diamond White CLS (it was the special edition they did last year) and it looked very nice, I'm just not into white.

I knew when I bought my C-Class I really wanted Pewter/Black, but for the CLS I am just not sure.

I like the lighter colors myself but for some reason this time around both my new cars are black. My C is Obsidian Black and my R is Majestic Black, I love the way Obsidian looks when its clean but lets face it, how often are cars clean? Problem is when Obsidian is dirty it just looks like plain black, so I wasted $750 on metallic paint for nothing ha ha.

Anyone seen Indium Grey Metallic in person, it looks like a wild color on the build your own page, but those things are never %100 accurate.
