Getting ready to pull the trigger on a 2006 CLS500 -need quick advice PLEASE!
I am looking at a 2006 MB CLS500 with 22,700 miles on it. It has about 1.6 years left on the factory warranty. Original asking price on it was $48,500.00 which was a certified MB car. Car has black leather perforated interior which looks almost new. Body looks new also. It seems to be loaded but missing the IPOD connection, Key to go and Bluetooth phone feature. The front bumper is not the AMG one which I like allot. Also the front bumper was painted because of a very minor scratch on the bumper itself. It was filled and re painted. I have it worked down to $43K an also throw in the MB Certified warranty on it on top of the original warranty. so basically I will have close to 3 years with no deductible on it.
Is this a good price for a Certified Car? Remember all fluids and belts have been replaced and checked by a MB dealer. I was told that an MB Certified cars bring in more money, but that sounds like a sales gimmick.
Can a bluetooth, Ipod be added to the car? It has the buttons for a phone but obviously doesn't work.
I am seriously thinking of getting this car but don't know enough if I am getting a good deal? There are several good deals out there on ebay but the only issue is what kind of condition are they really in?
What should I do? If I want the AMG version bumper I am sure I can add that on later.

I was thinking the same thing, but then you throw in time to drive out or fly or pay for transport to where I am plus my time...it adds up. Many cars on ebay look good but no telling what could be wrong with them. At $43K with a solid 3 year warranty...plus getting the color combo I wanted....may not be too bad of a price? It had all of it's fluids changed. Bumper part doesn't matter to me too much. I would like to change it out to the AMG sport bumper anyways. Is that a direct replacement?

Price is not bad. Try asking them to extend your warranty. If not, walk away, and I bet they will call you back.
Its not missing the Ipod connection because they don't come with it.
Good luck

To answer your question:
1. Bluetooth can be added.
2. Ipod kit needs to be installed.
3. Price is too high, even at $43K. My car came with all installed on my sig except Bluetooth/Ipod which I bought after. At the time I paid $53, including front door delivery. But...take a look at all the options mine came with for that price.
Does this car have parktronic? AMG Kit? 6 CD Changer? Distronic? A lot is missing for the price. Like Cole said, Ebay has much better. I know, that's where I got mine from a dealer there.

Thanks everyone. I closed the deal today. I got a great condition 2006 CLS500 in Silver with Black leather interior. 22K miles on it and I have a factory MB certified warranty on this car for 4 years/100K miles. So it expires 2012 or 100K miles which ever comes first. I got it for $45K plus tax and title. Car is loaded with everthing except key to go, blue tooth and partronic. So I don't think I got a steal but also don't think I got ripped either. I see these cars with prices all over the place. I wanted a solid car with a solid warranty to back it up. I think I got it. I am going to do a few things to it, but not too much. I don't want to rice it out if you know what I mean.

yeahh i was thinking that as well. There is a blak/blk sport pkg here for $38,000 with 30,100 and its certified with good carfax. These cars are becoming pretty in-expensive 34-39k for a good one.

Congratulations!! The warranty is good but how often do you drive the car. You could have save some dollars if your only going to drive 7-10k a year. These cars don't break down often.

I will be driving about 15K per year with my line of work. It's not my weekend toy at all, but my daily driver.
