Reverse Gear Qn
Hey guys
I've noticed that when I select "Reverse", there is a noticeable delay between selection and execution. What I mean by noticeable is approx. 3-4 seconds.
It's a four week old car (MY 09) and I'm not overly enthused with the notion of the dealer tinkering around with the gear box given the car is in its infancy.
Has anybody experienced this? Is this within the parameters of normality?
My previous cars have been manuals, consequently, I tried a few friends cars (non MB) as a barometer, and my delay seems to be more pronounced.
Cheers

3-4 sec is a long time. A trip to the dealer is needed big time

Yeah, a trip to the dealer was going to be inevitable. I just hope it's an easy fix, if there's such a thing!
Was wondering whether this has occurred to anyone else and what was done to rectify it. If it hasn't, I'll report back what the dealers findings/remedy was.
Thanks for the reply khelawanb, have a good week.

Took it into the dealer and apparently I had a faulty "Valve Body 7G" according to the paperwork. Replaced under warranty. Working perfectly now. Have to say they went above and beyond in order to facilitate an expeditious result. I arrived unannounced, aired my concern, then they promptly got me into another car while they investigated/repaired mine. Took 24 hrs though.
So if anybody has the same problem either now or in the future, this valve body may be the cause, among other things!
Have a great weekend.

I did some digging into this apparently all MY09 vehicles equipped with 722.9 transmission fitted with valve body A2202702306 & A2202702406 the software/hardware is not optimally matched causing delayed engagement of reverse gear.
