Performance on a 2006 CLS500?
I was looking at a 2006 CLS500. What sort of performance should I expect? Right now I have a 2000 C280 sport - will the CLS be much faster?
How does it compare to something like a C55 AMG, or E55 AMG? Obviously it is slower and not meant to be as sporty, but is it a night and day difference?

It will be several different leagues apart in acceleration from your C280. The C55 will undoubtedly be quicker than the CLS500, and the E55 is a different animal altogether. Best advice I can give is to test drive each car thoroughly to determine which suits your wants/needs best.

Also, if you like the CLS body style but want the performance of a C55, then look into a CLS550. Prices are coming down so there are some good deals floating about.

Ideally I'd like the CLS55 Amg - but the price is still a bit out of my range for now. I will take a look into the 550 though, is it really that big of a step up from the cls500?
