Used CLS550's
Hey everyone,
New to the forum and hopefully will be able to contribute to the forum. But before that can happen need to get a hold of one of these cars! I'm on the hunt for a 07/08 CLS550 with the amg package and keyless go. I was curious who has purchased a used CLS and what did you get it for?
Am I crazy for hoping to get one of these at around $37,000/$38,000 out the door for a car with those options and in the 40,000 mile range!? I have to buy from a dealership due bank loan conditions. Anyone have success with this?
I'm going crazy trying to find a car!!
Thanks for your feedback and insight!

What part of the country do you live in? I have found that they are a little cheaper in Florida and the northeast but the northeast cars need to be looked at closely. The roads are hard on those northern cars in the winter, rock salt and rock chips.....
Just make sure you use Carfax!!!

I'm in Florida and have been looking all over the country. I have someone who has a dealers license and am trying to go the auction route. So far I not found one at a dealership. Best deal I found was an 08 in Indianapolis for $37,000 40,000 miles clean carfax. Had everything but distronic. By the time I made my decision they sold it. Wasnt trying to spend that much but I may have to..at least going though a dealership route. Hoping to pick up a diamond white edition at auction this week if the price is right. Crossing my fingers.

08 cls550
I just bought a 08 cls550 for 38500k from park place dallas. 16500 miles. Black on berry with p2 package. The car is awesome. Its a true piece of art. It did have 3k car fax on the rear bumper. But i am in the collision industry so not much of a concern for me

I just bought an '07 CLS550 with the P2 package but no AMG body kit with 23,400 miles for $36,800 from Vista BMW of Pompano. Pewter/black, one-owner with no accident history. Good luck with your search.

Damn, paid almost 80K on mine with taxes brand new and now only worth rough 38K . Mercedes value sucks. Going for Porsche or Ferrari next time around.

apdesign,
Have you looked at Porsche resale values lately? For the most party, they suck about as bad as MB. V8 Ferraris may be a different story, but check out the resale values on 550/575 V12 Ferraris if you want to see horrendous depreciation. For the most part, the only way around terrible resale values on new upmarket cars is to buy a slightly used upmarket car.

I ended up paying 37,800 for an 08 with 34,000 miles. P2 and amg package in the Iridium silver. The car is perfect and love it. I will always buy used due to depreciation. The minute you drive it off the lot you have a used car and the value takes a hit. If I win the lottery it might be a different story.

What REALLY sucks is how I always made fun of the fact that people would buy a brand New car, and deal with the depreciation. Buying slightly Used is SO much more fiscally responsible.
.... And now that I have my first brand new car, being the OCD control freak that I am, I don't think I could ever buy a car that I'm passionate enough if it was Used. I feel like the car is fully MINE when I'm the one responsible for it during its life.

I ended up getting my 07 CLS550 w/amg package/keyless go for $32,900. Talked the dealer down from $39,000. I'm from Florida as well but had to fly out to Texas to get the car. Found it on autotrader.com, it was worth it to me just from the money I saved alone, not to include the options the that came with the car.

2008 C300 Sport Sedan: Panarama Roof, P2, Multimedia
Wow, that's a really good deal. Why 2007?
Are there any differences from the 2007+ vs. the pre 2007s...exterior and interior and engine/reliabilty wise?
I currently own a 2008 C300, and I'm in the market for a used CLS.

Not confirmed at all. I asked MBUSA directly and they said they have no idea whether a CLS350 is coming to the States, so even if it does, it probably won't be for a while.

Maybe where you live but over here in buffalo ny you NEVER see CLS's on the road and when you do its someone with money. The kids acting hardcore drive hondas and toyotas around here.
