Changing HID Color

Hey all, I've been looking on this board for a while and can't find a definitive answer. So I have HIDs on my CLS550, but recently 1 bulb went out so I got it replaced under warranty. But now I have 2 different color bulbs and the service advisor told me warranty only covers defective products and since my other bulb is functional they can't replace it. I've been meaning to change my bulbs to maybe 6000k, to get a little more white/blue. Can I just purchase the bulbs or do I need a whole new setup (ballast, wires, etc.)? If I can just purchase bulbs, what are some good quality bulbs that I can buy without getting error codes?

Sorry if I've overlooked threads talking about this, but only thing I could find was non-HID converting to HIDs..Thanks!

All you have to do is purchase the bulbs and swap out the old ones. Not sure if this applies to your car, but my dad's 07 CLS63 uses D2S bulbs; we swapped in a pair of 5000k bulbs.

I've never heard of getting error codes from switching just bulbs in, not even sure if it's possible. The #1 xenon bulbs that money can buy are the Philips Ultinon bulbs, but those cost a fortune. I've bought several sets of bulbs and HID kits from HIDExtra, a sponsor here on MBWorld, and I've been satisfied with the pricing and quality. I'd recommend you go check them out.

Cool I'll check them out...What color do you think looks the best, but doesn't sacrifice too much visibility? I'm thinking 6000k, but heard its not too much different from stock?...Hey I like your name LOL...

I personally like the look of 6000k, but it does come off as a bit 'aftermarket'. My father opted for the 5000k for less yellow, but more OEM looking.

I found a pair of the Philips Ultinon 6000k bulbs off ebay for $100. I am wondering, was it difficult to replace the bulbs? I mean I've replaced my own bulbs in every other car I've had, but just worried because I don't want to mishandle the HID bulbs.
