Anyone at 6'4 or over drive a CLS?
Checking out the new CLS, I was kind of bummed (or happy, since I don't have to worry about opening up my pocketbook to one, at some point) that the front headroom is a no go at my height of 6'5'ish. The moonroof opening is okay, but if I'm sitting "properly" in the seat, my head literally can't make it under the hard parts around it.
I'd assume any owners in that height range must either slouch majorly, or have your head always chillin' in that moonroof opening area? Problem is, that might be a safety hazard, in the case that an accident jams your head into the hard point.
BTW, from what I understand, the new and old CLS's have identical front headroom.

K-A has a very nice E series sedan but is looking at options like we all do from time to time. I don't qualify for K-A's height limit but from my experience in the CLS he has good reason to be concerned about the headroom for taller drivers.

Exactly what you said. It's a coupe...couple lines along with the low coupe roof. What did you expect? Sucks for the tall people...the majority of coupes won't accommodate you well. On a sidenote i remember i saw clip of shaq riding a lambo i think..it was hilarious..he was driving with his head sticking out the moonroof lol.

Yeah, I love the E-Class, and am happy with it, however was surprised to find that even if I did want to spring for a CLS, I can't fit in it, lol. An SLS? Wow, someone could give me that car for free, and I couldn't even drive it.
Another reason why I love Sedans, but always fun to look at options. On another note, I can fit in Mustangs, and Camaro's, etc. fine (American cars probably design their cars for bigger people)?

I am 6' 8" and drive a 06 cls no problem inside i have my seat depressed down and the back of the front seat in the back seat not all the way though. I am pretty much comfy. Getting in and out is a great squatting exercise too. lol

im 6'3 n i fit in no prob.......adjust the seat......n what i mean is if you r looking for Headroom u have to get a sedan if its a issue get a CL.............better head room but still a coupe...............................cant compare a coupe to sedan for headroom .....another reason the CLS is exclusive cause its More money with less room n functionality...............DIFFERENT..

Yes indeed it is a coupe so i am in the back window and it is tinted, lol I normally do not ride with over 1 person in the car so the backseat is unused. I just wipe it down when i detail her.

Just to be clear, I'm talking about *Front* headroom.... I don't care about the back seats.
I tried to sit in the back of the new CLS for laughs, and it was painfully (literally) hilarious.

Yes i have plenty of head room, you have to depress the seat function button down and the seat will sink. My head does not touch the top or is no where near sticking out of the sun roof. no scraping the top or nothing

Yup, went and sat in another 2012 CLS today, when I took my car in for some Warranty work.
At 6'5'ish, and what I assume is a long torso, there's no way I can comfortably or safely fit into a CLS, unless I keep my head positioned under the moonroof indentation the whole time (and no, my head is also not literally sticking out of the moonroof, lol), or majorly slouch backward or forward.
Sitting even slightly "properly", my head can't fit under the fabric hard-points around the moonroof indentation.
Oh well, good thing I also love the E, and good for my Bank Account I guess!

What? 6'5 and you fit? That's crazy. Since this Thread I've sat in numerous CLS's, and always my head is kinked, even with the seat far back and at its lowest. Weird. Again, must be a longer torso thing, because leg room is more than adequate.

I'm 6'4" and have no problem. However if I lift the seat all the way (or my wife drives and leaves it there), my hair may brush the top a bit. I have a 35" inseam. My guess is that yours is less even though you're taller. If you really want a CLS, just get some custom buckets made for it.

My inseam is 36' I seem to fit in anything I want to drive. Only car I have an issue with is getting out of a lotus, I can get in but not out lol.
By no means can I fully extend my legs, only in a S550 have i been able to. And the new audi A4 lol.
