I read that the new 2012 MBs will include an Eco start/stop system that shuts down the engine when it’s in Drive or neutral and the brake is depressed.

Is this feature defeatable? (how?)

The '11 Cayennes come with this feature and there is a simple on/off button for the driver to toggle as desired. To my knowledge this is not in the US MBs for the '12 MY although maybe there are exceptions (the '12 CLS63 AMG is an exception and has it) or this will change late in the MY. I like it a lot on the Cayenne and just turn it off in stop/go traffic.

Luckily the EPA doesn't give credit for the MPG savings from a start/stop feature, so it can be optioned off.
