I sent them but received a reply from the email addy you posted asking why I sent them.

 

I've put grease all through the rail as instructed and still getting the squeal. Looks like its more towards the top of the rail. Any idea why this won't work? Could it be the type of grease that I'm using? I'm using regular garage door type lithium all purpose grease. Am I doing something wrong here?

Well I will jump on this one as well, FL sun really brings out the tune on my window too.

 

Put little drop grease in wire, just down to window motor, see in first picture.
Helps for me ;-))

Hello all. Before I go breaking stuff removing the speaker for nothing....... Like others have posted, my noise is coming from the top of the door and is only doing it now that it is hot out. My car spent all day on Saturday at MB, with one of my concerns being the door. The tech blamed the tint without even checking anything. My tint guy is a professional. Used him for the last 15 years, sent him TONS of business and have never had an issue. I called him today and he said the CLS' have a felt strip that rides along the glass, and that the noise should NOT be caused by the tint. MB said they would only service the window if I had the tint removed first. Any feedback would be great. Thank you.

PS. My sunroof shade slides back a few inches under medium acceleration from a stop. MB quoted 8 hours labor to remove the headliner and repair it. They said if it was the slides it would be minimal parts, and that if the entire sunroof needs to be replaced the part is 2500. Anyone have this issue? Again, thanks.

 

I've been dealing with the window squeak for a while. It's only during hot days. Im 99% It's from the weather stripping rubbing on the glass when rolled down. I'm going to try to lube the stripping this week with krytox. I'm going to let it dry for a few hours before rolling windows up. I'll report back.

 

I tried krytox on the weather stripping as Well as ru-Glyde. It's helped. Still a little squealing left. So a couple more treatments should do it. Be ready to clean your windows alot until you get all the residue off. Only other option is to buy new exterior window weather stripping. Older weatherstripping get hard and the inside felt is worn away, hence your squeal. Good luck.

No problem.if you decide to go the krytox route. You can use it on your door rubber molding too. Eliminates Any sticking when u open doors,trunk,etc. I used the gl105 Oil formula.

Also try some rain-X or aquapel on the exterior windows glass. Should smooth the surface some to reduce friction.

 

Krytox showed up finally yesterday. Just went out to apply it and the window went half down, and then I heard the parts inside the door implode. Awesome. Time to find another MB dealer for service.
